Killzone 3 'Retro Map Pack' detailed
Salamun Market, Blood Gracht legacy multiplayer environments bundled with preorders, also available for purchase from PlayStation Network; price, PSN release date TBA.
In October Sony announced the $130 Killzone 3 Helghast Edition and noted that it, as well as preordered copies of the standard iteration of the title, would include the two-environment Retro Map Pack. Now, Sony has offered more intel on the new multiplayer locales.
The Retro Map Pack will include two maps for Killzone 3's multiplayer component that were originally released in Killzone 2: Salamun Market and Blood Gracht. The content will also be available from the PlayStation Network, though neither Sony nor Guerrilla Games has affixed a release date or price.
Salamun Market has been retooled for Killzone 3 with Guerrilla Games producer Aryeh Loeb saying it has been rebalanced for "maximum carnage." The map was one of the largest from Killzone 2 and will be playable in Killzone 3's Warzone game type.
Blood Gracht, the "fan favorite" from Killzone 2, will also arrive inside the Retro Map Pack. Set on the ravaged streets of the Helghan city, Blood Gracht pits ISA against Helghast in Killzone 3's Guerrilla Warfare game mode.
Gamers looking to vault into Killzone 3's multiplayer action ahead of its February 22 debut can download a demo for the game from the PSN today. Further, those wishing to check out the game's single-player component can grab a solo sampler beginning February 15.
