Square Enix scoops up the rights to a variety of sites for fourth title in the open-world action series before it has even confirmed the third game.
Just Cause 3 hasn't even been announced yet, but Square Enix is already laying the foundation for a fourth game in Avalanche Studios' open-world action franchise. As reported by Fusible, Square Enix last week registered a handful of domains for Just Cause 4, including JustCause4.com and JustCause4.co.uk.
While it hasn't talked about the future of its flagship franchise, Avalanche has teased a number of projects in the pipe. In February, the Stockholm, Sweden-based developer said that it had a trio of big-budget titles in development. The first of those projects has been promised for unveiling prior to July, which suggests Avalanche might have some news for next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.
The original Just Cause debuted on the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, Xbox, and PC in 2006. The game followed protagonist Rico Rodriguez, who sowed sedition on the fictitious island nation of San Esperito in a bid to overthrow a corrupt dictator. The game was primarily noted for its outlandish stunts, in which Rodriguez could hitch rides on the wings of in-flight planes, BASE-jump from cliffs, and parasail from moving vehicles. The 2010 sequel retained the original's open-world gameplay, complete with over-the-top parachute jumps and grappling-hook antics.

More guns! Just Cause 2 was hilarious, the story was abysmal but the gameplay was brilliant in short bursts, but the guns got boring, as did the missions
Same size Or more Sandbox, Add Destroy buildings, add Some Natural disasters, Water phisics and MP maybe Could make this game wayy more cool :)
Just cause 2 was okay. But the world was to big for the content. To much of it just felt copy and pasted and was overly empty. They need to either shrink the world or increase the amount of stuff to do.
Diagree... a big sandbox is best. Cramped zones are no fun for a sandbox fan.
Travelling from spot to spot allowed enough time to let me grab helicopters and planes and improve my flying skills.
@RockySquirrel @Celiria_Rose this big world is awesome - after such long time of playing I still find something to do and this knowledge draws me back to this game to this day
3 Like Who in their right mind would want JC3/4 to remain singleplayer?? The only thing better than blowing the hell out of everything in sight. Is doing it with a friend!

I hope Avalanche doesn't waste time on multiplayer and co-op for JC3... I just want another great sandbox to play in... ALONE! :)

3 Like Ahhhh yeah, this sounds good, hopefully this mean Just Cause 3 is on the way. 2 is just stunning I still fire it up on my PC from time to time just for fun. This time though add in some Borderlands style drop in drop out co-op ya know just cause.
Never did pick up the second game.. first one was a laugh even if there were MAJOR bugs for the PS3.

Y'know, you can buy a website, just to make sure somebody else doesn't buy it, and makes the product a bad name. Google has done that.
8 Like Absolutely loved JC2 - looked great, played great, felt great and was just brilliant fun. You know a game is good if long after you've completed it you still load it up just to fly around and blow **** up and still find new things to do. Very few games have that lasting fun factor so I hope JC3 is on the way, let alone 4.
Just cause their "flagship product"??... I thought that would be 'Tomb Raider', especially with the reboot coming up...
Well, it's odd. Maybe they plan to make the 3rd strange, a spin off or something. Maybe JC3 is JC3 Online? That's something I couldn't care less about, just random thoughts.
Anyway, more Just Cause is good news to me.

7 Like just cause 2 was just pure fun i spent hours just messing around the world of just cause 2. the only thing that woulda made it better woulda been co op. Double the destruction may i say?

One of the best sandbox games ever made. It took me a long time to get into the game. The first few hours of the game are really hard until you get some decent guns and learn how to steal some vechiicls and get around, but after that. I think the ONLY game EVER made that is more fun to just blow stuff up is Red Faction Guerrilla.
1 Like god i hope they release another one, the second one was fun, but it was like my copy of oblivion, the longer i owned it, the more glitches it would have, and i have to say, most of those glitches were just funny, or fun, none were ever really annoying.
3 Like the 2nd one is so much fricking fun! the first one is good but the 2nd one is just so much better it makes your head explode more then the island, the 1st one was most fun with the 2 factions against you on a bridge one on each side just holding out as long as possible while this stack of destroyed vehicles just started stacking up but the 2nd is most fun doing stunts and less about killing people which is what I love about it

2 Like I hope they add more free roaming epic moments since the game is much focused on this, the story mode is fairly good, but what makes it special are those epic explosion and moments that are somehow lacking in the free roaming. Also they should MAKE JETS EASIER TO DRIVE, I'm like using them 24/7, and they have amazing weapons, but I can't destroy much cause they are just too hard to handle, I wish they were more like battlefield 3. Also dogfights with jets would be cool
Also the angelich chorus when you were skydiving in the first Just Cause was so epic and I think they shouldn't have stripped it away, or at least they should have given you the option to activate it.
1 Like Just cause 2 is one of the most purely fun games ever made. A sequel that improves even more would be orgasmic. Dare I say... co op? Even destructible environments? (That respawn.) The possibilities are endless.

I wonder if physics is going to make an appearence in the next one. I'm ok even with a cameo.
