John Deere American Farmer now plowing PCs

Bold Games, a unit of Destineer, and Gabriel Entertainment have today announced the North American release of John Deere American Farmer for the PC. The farming simulation game, which is the first game to be licensed by agricultural equipment manufacturer Deere & Company, charges players with establishing and maintaining a successful farm.

When setting up their farm, players must decide which crops to plant, livestock to raise, employees to hire, equipment to purchase, and structures to build. All of the player's decisions will contribute to the eventual success or failure of their farm, as will factors beyond their control, such as bug infestations, weather conditions, and market trends.

"John Deere American Farmer allows players to build and establish their own successful farm utilizing their planning skills and John Deere equipment, the most recognizable brand of equipment in the farming community," said Paul Rinde, CEO of Destineer. "It's the most authentic farming experience available besides working the fields yourself."
