Developer brings on Russian cosplayer Anna Moleva to be the "official face" of Elizabeth for box art, TV ad, and special events.
BioShock Infinite studio Irrational Games has hired a Russian cosplayer to become the "official face" of the game's Elizabeth character. Anna Moleva, often known as "Ormeli," comes from Moscow and had previously created what Irrational called an "uncanny portrayal" of Elizabeth (below).
"We were so amazed by her dedication and her resemblance to Elizabeth that we decided to ask her if she’d like to be involved in helping bring Elizabeth to life in our box, our key art, and our upcoming television ad," Irrational Games creative director and cofounder Ken Levine said in a blog entry to the studio's website.
Moleva will also make special appearances at certain events to promote BioShock Infinite, Levine said. These were not detailed.
BioShock Infinite was originally scheduled to launch during October 2012, but was delayed to February 26, 2013 in May. Levine recently confirmed that the game will not feature multiplayer, which had been speculated following the departure of several of Irrational's top developers.

Hey Irrational! That's great! But um...about that game your making? Yeah...yeah the game. WELL WHERE IS IT!
Your eye candy tactic won't work on me...THE GAME! THE GAAAMMMEE!
For gods sakes man! Take my money and give me ze game! Then you can hire as many cosplayers you like!
Her rendition of Alice is pretty darned good too. http://ormeli.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d5fbk0x
Bloody hell. I thought that picture was the CGI screenshot. Was wondering where the pic of the cosplayer was. That is impressive!
She's much more good looking than other "official faces" of game characters, even without the cleavage. As if the next Bioshock wasn't looking good enough already, they've now brought in this hot Biochick to promote it.
So that is what people mean when they say "you look like one of those busty female characters on video games.". Now I get it.
Wait... that picture is of a real person?! O.oThe resemblance is really uncanny... and I'm glad. *hurhurhur*
There are so many comments on her breasts that I can no longer tell whether they are complimentary or denigrating. Since she is not hired to play the game, make the game, or act in the game, I have only good things to say about her looks, including her perfectly rounded figure.
Why are models even needed to promote video games nowadays? Thought we had gone beyond the absurdl B-movie resident evil 1 era, live action cut-scenes. Hang on? do they use good looking people to sell shit too these days? what!
Absolutely incredible. She is the spitting image of that character. This Russian woman is like the Mona Lisa of gaming right now.
@TheEveryMan I'll let you know after I play whether I find your comment appropriate for this particular combinatino of game and cosplayer, but I like it in general.
@TheEveryMan You mean the clueless look that she has because she probably never played a single Bioshock game and is now being payed to model for them?
@Dnaisinmybody She appears to have done an awful lot of unpaid cosplay for someone that's never played a game then, not to mention she's wasn't a model prior to being approached to be the face of Bioshock, cosplaying was just her hobby.
@TheEveryMan omg...... lamest comment ever lmao
wasnt the box art revealed a few days ago. it didnt have elizabeth on it just booker. they changing it ??
nice! i saw this chicks picture months ago and thought they should use her in the ad campaign. put her poster in the box
...Umm, the new...'face'???? Really? I'm quite sure that there is something else about her that is being focused on, judging by the way she is dressed...Of course the photo isn't helping her modesty either...
They hired a real life mascot? Hm, this game is going to sell anyway, but why? Don't tell me it's because boobies sell, that's old tired crap that makes me shake my head at all the sheep, again.
The fact you can easily find cosplayers to match characters always leaves me baffled why its so hard to make films with the characters actually looking the part.
check out the 'actual' in-game shot
I always thinks it's nice when Cosplayers get some real world recognition. The fact that these people are able to create such spectacular costumes really is it's own kind of awesome and the vast majority of the world writes them off as dorks with too much time on their hands. In actuality, they are fans and artists who bust their butts to create their costumes.
If I didn't know better, I'd say the character was designed based on Anna, not the other way around. Obviously, it's not the case which is quite surprising.
