Incredibles' price slashed

PS2 and GameCube versions now priced at $19.99 as part of "Greatest Hits" and "Players Choice" campaigns.

THQ today announced that The Incredibles has reached sales milestones on two platforms, the PlayStation 2 and GameCube. As part of the PS2's "Greatest Hits" and the GameCube's "Players Choice" programs, the game will be repriced at $19.99, effective today.

"To date, THQ has already shipped 4.5 million units worldwide, and we look forward to continued momentum at this attractive new price point," said Tiffany Ternan, senior vice president of North American sales for THQ. The company hopes that there's still life in the game and that sales will continue the better-than-expected first-quarter results of fiscal year 2006.

The Incredibles, based on the Pixar animated motion picture of the same name, was released on the PS2, GameCube, PC, Xbox, and Game Boy Advance late last year. The price cut only affects the PS2 and GameCube versions.

THQ will be publishing the game's sequel, The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer, at the end of the year. The game will be developed by Heavy Iron Studios, the company that developed the original as well as SpongeBob SquarePants: The Movie.

The Incredibles is rated T for Teen. For more information on the game, head over to GameSpot's full review of the game.
