I'm glad they came out with this. I can finally get the other Hitman games without having to pay for them individually.
Three-game compilation set for Io's Hitman series arriving June 20; Kane & Lynch preview disc bundled in.
While Hitman wasn't directly attributed as part of Eidos parent company SCi's mid-fiscal-year profit spike, the latest installment in developer Io Interactive's killer-for-hire stealth action series nonetheless achieved multiplatinum sales success. Agent 47 apparently wasn't too keen on the slight, as in March the publisher announced it would be bringing a trio of Hitman games to Valve's downloadable-game service Steam, in addition to several other titles in its catalog.
Today the company announced it would further be giving the series its due with the release of Hitman Trilogy for the PlayStation 2 and PC. The three-game compilation will include the most recent iterations in the Hitman series: Hitman: Blood Money, Hitman: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts.
A bonus fourth disc previewing Io's latest action game, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, will also come packed into the set. Appearing on the disc will be trailers, art, and screens for the gritty modern tactical shooter that follows the exploits of a deranged mercenary and his psychopathic accomplice.
The Hitman Trilogy is slated to ship June 20 and will retail for $29.99. All three games included in the package are rated M for Mature.
Cool, but if you own all these games already there is no point. You'll see Kane and Lynch information/trailers soon enough. At least it retails at 30 dollars.
I hope this spurs Microsoft on to make Silent Assassin backwards-compatible on the 360. I still can't believe it hasn't made the list after the success of Blood Money!
a much better idea would have been to release 360 compatible versions of all 3 games and a 360 demo of kane and lynch. only play the ps2 version as a last resort.
YES! Finally I'll be able to finish Contracts and Blood Money (Silent Assassin is in my collection from early-2004, finished almost every level in every rating).
The original Hitman is not included in this set because: A) Graphically looks terrible compared to its sequels B) They already re-did all the good missions from the original in Blood Money and Contracts I swear, I tried to run the original on my pc, except I couldn't because my laptop was too good. The game was running so fast I couldn't click or do anything. It was sad.
don't think they're replacing Hitman 5 witt this zaphod lol... I wouldn't buy these three crappy games for even ONE dollar each though lol
"Funny how they leave out the abomination that was the first game." I really have to disagree with that, Hitman 1 is still pretty much my favorite in the series. Honestly, I think if you like one of them, you will like them all. Same could be said about hating them.
I've never played a single Hitman game, but with a price like that and tons of praise, it wouldn't hurt to become a late fan of the series. I'm sold. This will make up for me buying Devil May Cry 1-3 online for $20 each plus shipping, only to have the $30 trilogy come out a month later.
Great deal...just wish they would rerelease the games with updated graphics on the 360 and PS3, that'd be worth buying. Looking foward to Kane and Lynch hope that it doesn't mean the end of Hitman games.
I already own all 3, but this isn't a bad deal at all. Funny how they leave out the abomination that was the first game.
I think anyone who's interested in hitman has probalby bought all 3 of these games already. I don't see this selling very well.
Worth it for Blood Money alone, seriously, that game is one of my favorites of last year. It's an acquired taste, but you'd be crazy to pass em up at this price!
I own the original Hitman for PC, Silent Assassin for PC, and Blood Money for 360, the best imo is the original, but the others were serviceable. This sounds great, but to be honest I personally wouldn't buy it unless it included a Kane & Lynch demo, but sadly it does not.
Expane: Are you stupid? Ive played both the PS2 version and the other ones compeltely, and they litterally are exactly the same, and the graphics and performance for the PS2 versions are perfectly fine, if not good looking. Your just angry your precious xbox didnt get the compilation pack (even though you can probibly buy all 3 games seperatly cheaper) >_>
Aye contract is more of a remake of the 1st. This is a great bundle basically you're getting 50$ games for 10 bucks a piece.
If only it was on the X360,I don't feel like going back to my PS2. One of the games that really made me go back was God Of War 2.
