Hitman movie targets filming
Xavier Gens to begin shooting game adaptation in Bulgaria this week says Variety; Desperate Housewives star confirmed as villain.
Bulgaria is soon to be the site of many gruesome assassinations...on film anyway. Variety is reporting that Hitman, the upcoming 20th Century Fox film based on the Eidos game franchise, will begin shooting this week in the country's capital of Sofia. Befitting the game's many exotic locales, the movie will also be filmed in South Africa, London, and Istanbul.
As previously reported, Deadwood's Timothy Olyphant will play the lead, the bald assassin for hire known as Agent 47. Dougray Scott, who plays suburban suitor Ian Hainsworth in TV's Desperate Housewives, is locked in as the film's antagonist. Other cast members include Olga Kurylenko, Michael Offei, Ulrich Thomsen, and Robert Knepper, all directed by Frenchman Xavier Gens, who takes his first turn behind the camera of a big-budget Hollywood film.
