Leaked scans point to three editions of Bungie's forthcoming shooter; prices reportedly $60, $80, and $150, latter will include in-game armor, statuette of Noble Squad.
When Halo 3 was released in 2007, the game came in three versions: A $60 regular edition, a $70 limited edition, and a $130 legendary edition. Now, scans posted by Planet Xbox 360 appear to show that a similar trifecta is in effect for Halo: Reach, which will ship this fall. The scans are reportedly of an upcoming retail flyer that shows the three products, albeit without any price points.
However, one of the deal-sleuths over at Cheap Ass Gamer apparently received even more information via a Best Buy insert that will appear in newspapers starting Sunday, April 25. Though the poster did not include a scan of the image, he did say the standard edition would sell for $60, the limited edition for $80, and the legendary edition for $150.
For the premium price, the CAG poster says the limited edition will apparently include a "special limited edition case, collectibles and in-game armor" while the legendary edition will include " all limited edition contents, unique packaging, plus 'Legendary Noble 6' sculpture and additional in-game armor." The "'Legendary Noble 6' sculpture" is likely a depiction of the six members of Noble Squad, the group of Spartans aiding in the defense of the titular planet in Halo: Reach from a Covenant armada.
In addition, members of Best Buy's Reward Zone Gamers Club will get "500 bonus points ($10 value) and up to 3 months of Xbox Live FREE with the pre-order of ANY version of Halo: Reach," according to CAG. (Emphasis in the original.)
When asked about the tripartite retail plan for Halo: Reach, Microsoft offered the familiar refrain of "Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation. However, the company was quick to point out the May 3 launch of the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta, which Bungie expects will attract over 3 million participants. if u dont have the money or your not willing to pay 150 just wait a year or two for the standard price to go down. ppl who work will get it or those who can get the money easy without a problem will get the 150 edition stop tripping about the price man. i might get the 150 like i did with halo 3 LEGENDARY edition i still have it and plan to keep it
A choice of editions won't save the fact that Halo is too outdated to even be fun anymore. It has no cover, not aim button, and basic run-and-gun gameplay. $150 isn't absurd for a great collector's item but it won't be worth it for a dieing franchise like Halo.
Unless there is something really cool in game i can get from the limited editions, i think ill be buying the standard one.
Once upon a time I would've hopped right on that Legendary Edition, but mula is tight these days; I've passed up many a special-edition copy for even epic games such as God of War 3. Nothing seems worth the $100+ anymore... but the multiplayer DOES sound roighteous. It's a long shot, but this game has the most potential of recieving more than 60 of my doll hairs for a 60 dollar game.
@ PvtRyan3 But the single-player won't be 2 hours?! I hope :( . Halo single-player went downhill since Halo 2. If they fix that in this game and come up with a suitably epic sp story campaign to justify the end of the series then even I might give it a try/rent.
I love the halo series but....I dont think Ill buy the hype of another legendary Edition of the game its All useless crap for me that gets thrown to the wayside over the years....just give me reach k? and on another note as I get older I cannot justify 150 bucks for the same game!?
$150 for Halo - Reach and a statue. HAHAHA $60 is already too much for just the game. The game alone should be $50 at best. Considering how Bungie ripped everyone off on ODST, they should be ashamed. Selling a 2 hour campaign for $60. What jokes.

hey, best buy is giving everyone a run for their money. 500 xbl points can get you a decent first release xbla game, and 3 months xbox live? so with either version you get, you are getting a bargain! 3 months is 20 bucks!!! so i will be getting the standard version, but everyone get whichever one you want!!! i will be seeing you on there anyway!!!
@gamebreakerz__ -- As long as there are people willing to spend money on franchises they enjoy, you mean? What makes something "useless crap" is really in the eyes of the beholder, isn't it? Don't begrudge people what they like just because you don't share their interest. If I have the money, I'll be picking up the Legendary edition, because I'm a huge fan of the Halo universe and games, and it'd be a nice thing to add to my collection. Otherwise, I'll settle for the Limited edition.
Totally standard edition for me. Play the single player game then trade it in. No need for the other worthless tat. Still, I know there are some that will buy it. My time at Codemasters showed me that :) Guys with all sorts of game character models all over their monitors.
i agree the limeted edition is a bit over priced but the extra stuff is more for collecters you know people who wanna buy it now and then in a couple of years when it all becomes scarce then can sell it and get more then what they payed for it so what im trying to say is its for people who want to make an investment
what the point spending so much money on crap which your only going to enjoy it for a one day . i prefer to spend that $150 and a extra game or microsoft points to buy anything that worth extending my game online.

Is there a reason every game these days NEEDS a collectors edition? Doesn't help you can pick up limited/collectors/whatever edition cheaper than the actual game a couple months afterwards just cause retailers want it off the shelves. GTA4s collectors was 10 dollars cheaper than the game 5 months after its release, Halo 3s legendary was marked down to laughable levels weeks after release, and you can pick up the SF4 collectors edition cheaper than buying the platinum/greatest hits version! And just for kicks you can pick up the nightvision version of MW2 for 50 bucks at some Best Buys, thats 10 dollar cheaper than the standard. These things are a joke, and I'm pretty sure it's a test to see if' we'd "accept" another 10 dollar increase next gen. Heck, remember the last couple years of the PS2 era where every other game had a collectors edition and rumors started that games would be 60 bucks? It's cause it's a test to see how far they can push us while still making a profit from us biting the bullet.

Truth be told, after a month or two after Halo 3, one of the wal-marts close to me was selling Legendary editions for $70 cuz they were taking up too much space and wasn't selling fast enough... that was about the same price I paid for my limited edition! So if you want to save money and get the Legendary edition, wait around!

I dont even know if I will buy this because ODST was disapointing,Just being back the Chief already. I dont see the point in buying Limited or Legendary edition unless you get some DLC or anything,I dont care for lame DVDs,Books,or a Carrying Case.
