MW2 is not that challenging, you pick up an assault rifle and you already have a more accurate and longer range weapon then a sniper. Not to mention the terrible spawn system they have. Almost all the time guaranteed a free kill as you spawn right behind someone. Their networking isn't that great either, it seems like it was rushed and whenever you try to join a game its a shot in the dark and hope to god that you don't get some server error where you need to turn off the console cause it got stuck on the loading screen. Along with the pc version not having dedicated servers, everyone has to suffer if the game chooses a bad host and lags everyone, seeing most people can't maintain a hosted game with even just 8 people. The graphics aren't that great not revolutionary anyway, generic at best.
Multiplayer trial of Bungie's upcoming shooter is less than three months away, can be accessed via Halo 3: ODST disc; all-new video documentary feature inside.
Although Microsoft's X10 event is only half over, Xbox Live director of programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb has fired off the event's biggest news in one fell swoop. First and foremost, the Xbox 360's public face announced that the Halo: Reach beta will begin on May 3. The multiplayer beta can be accessed only via the Halo 3: ODST disc, much like the Halo 3 beta was opened up only to Crackdown players in 2007. Halo: Reach itself is not due out until the fall.
First announced at the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo, Halo: Reach will depict some of the same events that took place in the novel Halo: The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund. The book portrays both the siege of the titular fortress planet by the Covenant and the origins of the Spartan program, which developed dozens of supersoldiers like Halo series hero Master Chief. It will follow a squad of six Master Chief-like Spartan soldiers as they try to protect Reach's human inhabitants from the Covenant's relentless onslaught. A source who has seen Halo: Reach firsthand described it to GameSpot as "Gears of War with Spartans" and "very bleak and violent."
For the latest look at Halo: Reach, check out Bungie's all-new video documentary feature on the making of the game, viewable below.
I really can't wait for this Beta to begin.. I even pre-ordered the game already.. Was only 40$ on walmart for pre-order.
CONTINUING FROM MY LAST COMMENT. You are completely wrong MW2 is a great game, BFBC 2 is not that good at all (the graphics fail, the multiplayer only has 8 maps and you can only play several per game-type, many of the weapons and ideas have been taken from cod 4 and it is very unrealistic. MW2 is a much more challenging game than both BFBC 2 and Halo 3, you actually have to have skill to be good at MW2 online unlike BFBC 2. MW2 is one off( actually 'the') best selling games of all time and BFBC will never come near to it's sales and will never live up to be as good as MW2. MW2's 'crown' is not 'falling off'. You are copletely wrong about all the statements you made and your judging your thoughts on BFBC 2 before the game had come out, it has now come out and it is good but not 'that' good, the best thing is the destructible buildings and environment, other than that it isn't very good.
ryngiggs21 "hahaha modern warfare has taken the crown and it is there to stay.... wow... for how long do you think..? ive played the battlefield bad company 2 DEMOO and have no desire whatsoever to go back and play cod, cods not even in the same league and its just the demo. the full game is going to blow the biggest flop in history that is modern warfare 2 away, i have friends that are avid cod nubs, they try to play any other shooter that is a little more challenging such as bbc2 or halo and they fail and get pissed and whine and say the game sucks, then they go running back to the cod community and circle-jerk with them in-game... modern warfare is dying, play the BBC2 demo.. we havent even got to Reach yet and the crowns already falling off. " YOU ARE COMPLETELY WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow they have made a lot of improvements from halo 3 to Reach. I haven't played ODST though so i'm not sure how big a change it is.

@swamptick This looks like it's going to be a fun game. But by no means is it going to become the definitive shooter of this console cycle. MW2 has already taken the crown and is there to stay as the biggest entertainment launch in history.
@KimCheeWarriorX "First of all, wouldn't you agree that one patronizing comment deserves one in return? Fair's fair right?" Yes of course, I agree, but between your *barf* comment and now, I don't see where anyone has patronized you. The only direct comment to you was from 'TheoleDominion' who said he disagreed with you and listed the reason why Halo was a great game for *him*. No insults have been directed towards you, hence I don't understand why you responded in the way you did. And said "I'm done posting on this comment board for now because this is obviously just turning into a pi**ing contest" Except that hasn't happened to you in this topic, perhaps in another Halo related topic(?), but not here. :-| And before I forget, in your edited post you added "I was being fair and every level headed person here knows it but I still got a thumbs down for it so getting one doesn't necessarily mean I'm being unreasonable, it's obviously because I don't think Halo is the best game out there. Nuff said." I hate to say this but.... so what? No really my friend, EVERYONE here has had reasonable posts voted down time and time again. It happens. That said, the fact that you started here with your barf comment doesn't make it surprising your posts were voted down. But again, no-one actually attacked, insulted or patronized you here, therefore your comment wasn't justified.
@MTMind2 First of all, wouldn't you agree that one patronizing comment deserves one in return? Fair's fair right? At least Theole was capable of expressing his disagreement with me without being insulting and I respect him for that. About getting thumbs down, I get thumbs down for making comments like this, "If you like it, go for it, it's just my personal opinion that it's over-hyped." Does that deserve a thumbs down? Hardly. I was being fair and every level headed person here knows it but I still got a thumbs down for it so getting one doesn't necessarily mean I'm being unreasonable, it's obviously because I don't think Halo is the best game out there. Nuff said. Also, I'm done posting on this comment board for now because this is obviously just turning into a pi**ing contest (like every other comment board on Gamespot) and that's not what people here wanna read when they come here. Have a nice life and don't forget to leave me a thumbs down. Peace.
@KimCheeWarriorX who wrote "I also mentioned on more than a few occasions that I called the game a "mediocrity". Know what that word means or is it too big a word for your vocabulary?" Joking or not, that's an extremely patronizing comment Kim. I've read the replies to your post, and none of them deserve such a response from you (including those who thumbed down your posts). :-|
All they do is downplay Halo 3 and say this is this many times better. Maybe they should have made H3 better. Either way this looks kinda cool, and this is coming from a non Halo fanboy.
If you weren't able to figure it out, that "Halo. *barf*" comment was expressed with a bit of intended exaggerated humor. Get it? I also mentioned on more than a few occasions that I called the game a "mediocrity". Know what that word means or is it too big a word for your vocabulary? It means I don't think it's a horrible, it's just "terribly mediocre" for lack of a better term. I also didn't flame anyone here for liking Halo, it's just my own personal opinion. In fact, I even respected Theole's comment about liking Halo and even said so in a previous comment. But I guess saying that Halo isn't the best there is equals saying "Halo sucks" in some people's minds. I'm also reading up on this game because like I said it doesn't absolutely suck, it's just over-rated which means I will plan on getting it, it's just not on the top of my to-get list. I'm not surprized by this comment though, I'm just surprized that it didn't happen sooner. Now if you don't mind, I have to check my Inbox for messages from a zillion Halo fanboys who'll probably try to threaten my life for not saying that Halo is God's gift to gaming. Peace.
I respect that but I just don't like it, I've owned and played all of them although they're not horrible games (hence why I call them mediocrity), I just think they're over-rated compared to everything else I've played. If you like it, go for it, it's just my personal opinion that it's over-hyped.
I disagree KinCheeWarrior, Halo was the first shooter on console in a long time (since GoldenEye on N64) that I actually really enjoyed and really heads and shoulders above anything on console during the time. From, story graphics and co-op play I cant think of a better title at it's release.
I'm glad they're going to back to the roots of what made Halo so great. The story and the eerie alien environment is what hooked me in the original Halo(also be able to play co-op with a friend). Though Halo II & III were good games, they did not capture the "feeling" I had from the first one. But in all fairness, it's hard to recapture the feeling of the "first" in anything. This has me very excited for the beta.
Oh, I'm primarily a 360 user and I still think Halo's the most over-rated mediocrity in this generation of games.
This will be THE definitive First Person Shooter of this console cycle for either console. I LOVE all the sony girls over here obsessing over Microsoft, Bungie, Xbox 360 and Halo: Reach.
i always had played the halo series all my gaming life, but i never owned one cuzz i never had a xbox :/ i just got my first one a while bak, and im saving my money to make this my first halo to own. i hope i dont get disappointed!
The most interesting quote in this whole film is at 7:23. I could skip the entire mini-doco, listen to that one quote and know for sure that I myself as a veteran gamer and a lover of only the first halo, will be in safe hands. Anyone agree?
They should call it.. Halo: Before we effed up 2 and 3. All you gotta do is make Halo 1 with online, better graphics,gp tweaks . Please get it right Bungie.
Don't disappoint me this time, Bungie. ODST was a terrible game and a waste of $60.00, so don't make Reach go to waste either.
I've been waiting since Halo: Combat Evolved on the original X-Box for Bungie to finally freakin' get what made the original so good. Looks like they might do it right this time, I'm excited, count me in.
@Flint247: I'll just start by saying I don't think Halo is being milked. But sports games being milked? I don't think so. The definition of milking a game isn't just making loads and loads of games of the same series or whatever but when you make more than you should've and the games start getting worse or are just plain terrible. FIFA10 sold something like 9 million copies this year and reviews and user reviews proves it's one of the best FIFA games ever. Madden, I imagine, is the same. Same with Call of Duty. People WANT more, as proved by the massive sales: so it's not anyones place to say that the series is being milked. They try and make the game exciting and new everytime, so as long as there is 'milk' left, they can carry on 'milking'.
I've been a Halo fan since the very beginning, loved every sequel since and see no reason why I wouldn't pick this up
i love how these bungie guys are like "hey now what if... we realised that most of what we changed from HALO:CE to Halo2 was lame? what if... aliens seemed alien. What if.. the brute sucked?... What if... the original health system made sense?" i just hope they get rid of dual weilding automatic weapons
@mrzero1982pt2 hey I have no problem with the halo franchise as I said be4 I own them all except halo wars (because its most possibly one of the worst RTS games I have ever played) but the thing I noticed about the halo franchise is the quality of the games are declining ODST was the worst 60 dollars I spent in my life and I love expansion pack some of my favorite games are expansion packs (C+C generals zero hour and yuri's revenge to name some) every second of ODST was horrible for me even my halo buddies with the horde mode we got bored we got recon played a few rounds and went back to other games and never played halo since once again I have nothing against halo but it is now overly hyped piece of trash the tweaks they added to the game or some story elements harm the game one of my personal favorite games of all time is Halo 1 and most likely will be for a long time but I know when a great franchise should end
I no longer own a 360 but I did a couple years ago and I was a dedicated original Xbox gamer...These types of games are what gaming are all about. When developers (like Bungie) throw out all of the content/technology that they used in previous installments of the franchise and start anew to bring gamers a "Maximized" experience, this is why gamers game and developers develop. ENJOY my friends, you will soon get to play a game that is actually WORTH the money that we pay.
@StJimmy15 Not really a fail since people don't need to find evidence to prove how they feel about something. If someone in their oppinion loves somebody they're going out with, does he need evidence? NO! Becuase he feels it and in OPPINION this feeling is just true. Therefore evidence wasn't needed. ie: You fail. Lol. As soon as people learn this they'll stop having a go at reviewers for giving a game an 8.0 instead of a 9.0. Because he/she feels it didn't deserve the extra 10 points. A gut instinct or an OPPINION. unneeding of evidence. And aside from this an 8.0 is pretty damn good, so what are people moaning about?
I love how people say Halo is "milked" when games like COD has like 7-10 games out, Madden has probably over 20 games, and so on... If you are going to hate Halo, just say you hate Halo. Just don't post lies saying it's "milked" or "too many games" on the internet.
