Halo: Combat Evolved redux due in Q4 - Report

@Sgt_Magpie. Its mainly for the long time players of this game. And i dont mean the people that JUST play Halo for the Multiplayer. Its for the people that wanna relive the old story and all its Original glory that made halo (halo) in a whole new way. This is 343 industries way of saying. Yes..... we understand what made halo great. And we wanna bring it back.

If this game is done right it will be great and I will buy it. If its done wrong I'll pretend it never happend and just stick to my original halo: ce. I do hope it's in good hands, in my opinion I wish it was gearbox making it instead. I'll just wait and see what happens.

i think they should make a Halo 4, with the background of the sniper guy who got away safely, i think. it would be in the same time set as halo 1, 2 , and 3. or they could make another halo with master chief enering a vast part of the universe where huge covenent arms are displayed, and no sign of earth military, which master chief would have to ally some covenent that would aide him in returning home.

Guys this is incredibly good reason to make this game. in case you didn't notice, in the last 10 years an entire new generation of gamers have entered. Most of them haven't played the original. It'll be like a brand new title for most people and the ones who have played it will likely get it again for the nostalgia or multiplayer

I still have the original, it is boring and the most overated game ever made.

Why would I wait and buy a game for $60 from a company I've never heard of when I can buy the original Bungie version for like $15 at Best Buy tonight?

If you want to play Halo CE in high resolution you could just get the PC version from your local bargain bin. So I think it would be difficult to sell this at overprice.

Something smells fishy. Yeah, I get it, it's the 10th anniversary, but... you know what? Whatever... I don't care anymore if MSFT is milking...if it's a decent game, I might get in the midst of all of the AAA releases of this year, and if it's a bad game, I'll ignore. If this is how MSFT wants to treat their main franchise, so be it. If they are aiming for short or longterm sustainability, that's up to them. Wouldn't it be lovely if we'd learn that MSFT was working on a brand new franchise with a strong enough foundation that, if it were successful it could follow the like of GoW and Halo?

@Poton Spartan_418 was saying that if it has online multiplayer, how would it affect who plays what as in would people leave Reach to play CE and situations like that.

@BenderUnit22 You cant even compare it to any of the others. You need to go download it or buy it. As far as it plays It's fast paced at times depending if you are playing on legendary you have to strategies and use some stealth and make sure to hang onto power weapons such as the pistol shotgun sniper rifle and rocket launcher. As for the elites a charged shot with the plasma pistol with a shot to the head with the pistol is the best combo. Once you start playing it you will not want to stop its that fun. Make sure to play it on legendary you got to go big or go home. It will make you a better player.

I've been hoping this would get a HD remake. Thanks for making it happen, Microsoft. Now, how about you line up a HD remake of Conker's Bad Fur Day, too. Uncensored, preferably.

@bigcrusha Be thankful your not playing PS3, they have a "HD Remake" out every other day and no backwards compatibility. Now that's sucking you dry.

I would love to see the 'Redux' do for Halo what Chris Nolan did for Batman.

I can't wait, but I'll only buy it on release if it releases at a price of £25(US $40) tops. If they want a full £40 (US $67) off me they need to remake one and two and sell it as one package for me to be interested, otherwise I can definitely wait for it to come down in price.

I'm looking forward to these new Halo games, but I'm kinda worried how are they gonna make since Bungie made such a great job in EVRY SINGLE Halo game.

@Gooshands: It always makes me laugh when people tell me to read properly in an arrogant manner when they were the ones with the reading comprehension problem. You asked a question, I stated MOST people sounded like PC fanboys when doing that and never even mentioned you. You weren't even mentioned other than a comical exageration of mine in which I stated 'all PC gamers' but that was later rectified in a more sincere manner by saying not all did this actually. Yes you did ask a question so yes I answered it for you, kind of weird that you threw a hissy fit when you get the answer to your question though. reverse learn to reads are quite fun

Holy crap man awesome, awesome awesome!!Halo Combat Evolved is still an amazing game,the gameplay was so intense in its time but sadly halo 2 lost that intensity 10 fold imo. The massive grenade explosions, the brutal elites, the gun sound effects(not really anymore but it was back in the day).I seriously hope they keep that same intensity in the remake.Halo Reach definitely brought back some of the heart from Halo 1 but redoing the whole package with the graphics now?It would be absolutely amazing.Can't wait to see gameplay.

Halo 1 and 2 bundled together would be cooler.I see this going for full price too,which is not worth it.

Playing Reach just proved to me that the Halo gameplay needs to be revamped. Not sure I'm interested in a CE remake if it's just a prettier version of the original.

ALTAIR360, I downloaded the beta for that, they still didn't quite get it right. I know we can't all like the same games & all but KZ3 is still sluggish, not as bad as 2 but it's just off. I have to admit playing it with the Move is pretty inovative.

I was against ideas like these, but since it is working, why not? We have seen God of War 1&2 with HD PS2 graphics on the PS3, and now MGS collection is going to the PS3, and there is the shadow of collosus and ICO game on the PS3 with PS2 graphics. So making Halo CE with 360 graphics is super great. I will definitely buy it, and I hope there is multiplayer to it, and changing the look of the character like Halo Reach.

I do have an X360 and a PS3 If you bothered to READ, [a skill that is pretty useful to be honest] never did i state that I wanted to have this on the PC so your argument on thinking that PC gamers thinking they are entitled to every game. Looks like there's nothing new coming to this IP. So in the next 10 year's I can look forward to playing Halo : Reach Redux. YAY!

The bigger question is why? Out of all the Halo games the first one is the worst and the Library is the most boring level in gaming history. Im not a Halo fan but the second game was ten times better than the first...remake number 2 instead.

i feel that all halo games are basically remakes. i'm not a big fan of the games but i must say that the online portion is fun. personally, i think it's time to move on. but i guess the fans will be happy and their opinion is what's important here.

I have been calling for this to be remade for the last 3 years. and Window 7 was my idea.

Also does this mean a remake for halo 2 as well? That would also be great. I've always wanted too see what the heretic faction would look like in a newer engine. They were my favourite faction in halo 2 for some reason.

Easily the best FPS released. As long as they keep true to the original and only add things that wont change the gameplay aspects like a better graphics engine, sound effects, theatre and forge then this will be one hell of a game. :)

I'm predicting a Halo 4 beta entry to ship with the CE remake.
