I would love to use the Warthog in an online race... if you get overtaken by a Bugatti Veyron.. just shoot the hell out of it as it passes by! lol! Would the car damage show bullet holes?
Halo 4 Warthog making cameo in Forza 4
Turn 10 confirms sci-fi shooter's iconic all-terrain vehicle will appear in Kinect-enabled Autovista mode.
One of the ways in which Turn 10 is incorporating the Kinect into its upcoming simulation racer Forza 4 is through the Autovista mode. And while Turn 10 plans to reserve this mode largely for cars gamers wouldn't normally see on the streets, it will include at least one crossover, though not of the sports utility kind.
At a 343 Industries event last night, Turn 10 head Dan Greenawalt confirmed that Halo 4's Warthog will make an appearance in Forza 4 as part of the Autovista mode. Unfortunately, the Warthog will be limited to the mode, meaning it will not be drivable in the game.
Forza 4's Autovista mode lets gamers take an up-close look at a handful of vehicles in the game. Using the Kinect sensor or a gamepad, players can zoom in on vehicles to see intricate detail work as well as activate information voice-over nodes that detail the specs and history of the car. Gamers can also hop inside the vehicles to give their engines a rev.
As it pertains to Halo 4's Warthog, Cortana will provide the voice-over work, detailing such particulars as top speed (78 miles per hour, irrespective of terrain, for those wondering) and how many rounds the back turret can fire off. Greenawalt said that the Warthog's specifications were all taken from Halo lore and that 343 Industries provided the writing.
Gamers will apparently have to work to unlock the Warthog, with Greenawalt referring to the vehicle as an Easter egg that will be difficult to obtain.
Forza 4 will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360 on October 11. Halo 4 has not yet been dated. For more on Turn 10's racer, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
