Halcyon prepping Terminator, Philip K. Dick games

Very nice.

This is the first setp in the right direction for this franchaise. However the developer should not only make this a stand alone title from the movie (not suck), but sell or keep a percentage these rights to a proven developer and make a truly great money making game with this fertile fiction of a fps human techcom fighter in epic battles having to accomplish objectives to take down skynet would attract many gamers.

Just seeing if anyone could give me some advice on how to get a game company like Halcyon to look at a idea for a Rpg based on the Terminator series that i have everyone i have told my idea loves it just places like bioware who has made some pretty sweet rpgs wont look at game idea's from outside sources..if anyone could help me out that would great?

This game looks ten times better than a terminator game I played on NGC, I hope it is but I'm prepared to be let down.

Too much debate about Terminator Lore. I see these guys got very talented people in place to really make the Terminator games come to life. It'll be much better than past projects I think and that awful arcade shoot-em-up. It made me want to go and play the original x-wing fighter arcade game from the 80's. It was much better made.

I just hope we get to see SEXY KILLER LESBIAN CYBORGS. That will totally bring it back.

Terminator 1 and 2 were amazing movies. Terminator 3 was complete garbage. They should redo that one before moving on in the story line. Also any game being made to coincide with a movie release is gonna be a haphazard work. I doubt this will be any different...which really sucks because they could make some awesome games around the Terminator franchise. FPS, 3rd person action, RTS...they could do everything with the license....

The last one wasn't that good. It would be nice if they brought Edward Furlong as the original John Connor. But I'll try to keep an open mind about the game and movie, but won't set my expectations high.

I'd like to see a good Terminator game like the old ones from Bethesda, but I have my reservations when I read stuff like "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins will launch in tandem with the film". They usually rush stuff like this and the game suffers.

Here's my problem, 1. can you have a good terminator movie without arnold? No. 2. Should the governor do another Terminator movie? No, he's too old and a govenor for god's sake! 3. Will arnold do another temrinator movie? maybe, if the price is right. sad. MAybe they can have terminator 5 with arnold in a wheelchair and everyone can call him wheels the mobile version of the orginal temrinator.

All I could ask for is a higher-quality, updated version of Skynet and a sequal to the Blade Runner point and click game from the 90's. That's about it.

I was reading about this movie, and they said Arnold is making a "cameo" appearance!!! Ok, how can you have a terminator movie without arnold being the main character in the movie???

The problem I have with terminator is that the way they use time travel is wrong...you can't go back and kill the humans that will fight you in the future...they must have survived or you wouldn't have a problem with them in the first place. Silly machines. Silly script also. Godd as an action romp, but I stand by the fact it makes no sense.

Wow...just wow. No. Kyle Reese was the name of the character played by Michael Biehn. He was sent back in time to protect Sarah Connor, John's mother, from the Terminator played by Ahnold. Michael winds up knocking Sarah up, making his John Connor's father, thus setting up the paradox which is supposed to make you go "Oh, wow, man. Far out."

wait...didnt john connor travel back in time and die during the first movie?...I thought he was like 27-28 in the first one. So how can he be alive for this one?

Mmmm interesting I might have to keep an eye open for this one. Hopefully they will bring in some decent actors in this film...Arnold sorry guy your getting too old...lets bring in some fresh faces please....

Actually, im betting thats what the new terminator will be.. a terminator disguised as a little kid, its the next logical step after having the female terminator. Couldn't care less about Terminator Games; only company that ever did justice to teh license was Betehsda, and they gave that up loooong ago. Regaring PKD's work, I'd like to see something based off of Second Variety, but I'm not expecting Halcyon to do anything spectacular with the material. There's only three people I've ever seen that paid proper respect to his work - Ridley Scott, Shirow Masamune and Richard Linklater actually seemed to not only understand his work, but his mind as well. Even Westwood made some major booboos with their Bladerunner game because they tried to merge the worlds of the novel and the movie. Paycheque would be better off if it were based on the short story and made into an adventure title because the movie sucked. Screamers would be interesting, though

Man, lot's of vaporware speak here and promises of a game made from a movie that won't suck. How many movie to video games adaptations have been made that don't suck that we can count on one hand??? I think the staff of Halcyon was probably taking Halcyon when they made these statements. And we get to be in our fourth iteration of John Connor since it doesn't sound like they want to pick up the last guy that did it. He changes out faster than 007s.

Why must they continue to ruin Terminator? They should have learned their lesson with the third one.

next gen, current gen, you know what they mean. (I can't stand those who want to be right for everything). Anyway, this is great. As long as they don't f^ck up the movie like they did T3 then everything should be cool. If they do what they say they will do with the games, and actually put some time into them, then that will make it even better.

by next gen consoles i hope they mean the ps4 etc. because the ps3, wii and 360 are current gen. wake up and stop referring to them as next gen consoles. by 2009, all the so called 'next gen consoles will be 2+ years into their lives with the 360 approaching its 4th year.

They will hype the film and game i bet and everyone will be thinking yeah it might actually be alright untill they actually see the film and play the game!! (Im still gunna hope there good tho!!)

T4 will be probably less fun than putting your Balls In a Blender! T3 Was pretty poor compared to T1+T2 soo T4 will be even more poo

I'm a huge fan of the movies particularly the first 2 so I can't wait for the new movie even though I can't see it matching the previous movies. Not sure about the game though. Not many movie to game games are great. Hopefully I'm surprised.

If they can ruin this game given the amount of time they have for it, the fact that character, enemy, environment, and weapon models are all done for them, and so is the story, then this studio just plain sucks.

Oh, this better be good....how do i love the Terminator series...first i read of a new Ghostbusters game featuring Murray and the boys, and now a new Terminator game...god i still remember my old Genisis, the laser gun and i had the T2 Arcade Game for it, it was flippin' sweet. I have high expectations for this new game!

It's not really T4, It's a new series of movies BASED on that universe.

I'm sure Arnold Schwarzenegger will make a small cameo in Terminator 4... he has made too many jokes about it already. Don't expect to see much of him though, last time he could only be convinced with at least 30 million dollars... seems he doesn't come cheap.

Ah man terminator with no Arnold, not good, hopefully it will still be a good movie though. Also, I bet Hitman will be one of the greatest game-to-movie adaptations ever!

Terminator 2 is the best movie. i hope that T4 will be better than T3.

Philip K. Dick is an amazing author. Hopefully they won't butcher his work too bad.

Also, he's too busy being governor and can't take time off to do a full time acting gig. We have probably seen Arnold's last movie appearance when he made a cameo in the Rundown.

Why can't they have the SkyNet thing send terminators back to like, 1950, and take over the U.S. that way? Why does the timeline not change because of changes to it PRIOR to 1984? HEY! Maybe even have the Terminators involved with WW2! Ho-ho-ho!
