Guitar Hero 5 full setlist sports Nirvana, Queen, Crue
"Smells Like Teen Spirit," "Under Pressure," more flesh out remainder of Activision's 85 playable tunes in upcoming rhythm game, due September 1.
Activision has made a tradition out of teasing out the particulars of any given upcoming Guitar Hero's setlist in short bursts leading up to the game's release. With Guitar Hero 5's September 1 launch quickly approaching, the publisher today pulled back the curtain on the rhythm game's full setlist, announcing among other high-profile tunes Nirvana's genre-defining "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and the Queen/David Bowie collaboration "Under Pressure."
Guitar Hero 5 will feature 85 songs in total, the final 15 of which were announced today. In addition to the aforementioned two, Activision announced tunes that span a number of genres, including Stevie Wonder's "Superstition," Megadeth's "Sweating Bullets," and Blink-182's "The Rock Show." The rest of the tracks announced today, as well as the remainder of Guitar Hero 5's setlist, can be found below.
As with World Tour, Guitar Hero 5 lets gamers accompany playable tunes on the guitar, bass, drums, or microphone. The publisher is also lifting the restriction on the one-instrument, one-player rules that have defined the series. Instead, rhythm rockers will be able to use any combination of instruments for any given song, with Activision giving the example of two guitars and two sets of drums rocking out together.
Guitar Hero 5 will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and Wii. For more information, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
