Honestly, with my hand on my heart, I would take Guild wars1 over Guild Wars 2 any minute.. I cancelled account after playing for 1 hour.. HUGE disappointment!! People making money out of anticipation and name of the first game, but the game it self didn't impress me at all.. (please note I'm 15 year gamer and played every single MMO and Non-mmo rpg under the sun).. Graphics are ancient, I would say in late 90s I saw same or better. The way everything setup is ridicules- took me 15 min to figure out where is what. But movement is the worst - click-to-move is removed, press key to move with left hand and turn the map with right to give your self direction... so i need 2 hands to move and I suppose to hit my skills with my toes? Thats makes me dizzy and tired fast.. Same reason I cancelled Wow and Tera - it is not enjoyable or relaxing to me if I cannot click to move and look around while my char is runs, or hit my skills on key if i'm in battle, or have a cup of coffee in my left hand (!!! for COL) while I'm running to the spot. Kids will play, because they don't know any better, but adult people that I know in my community of gamers (and there is a lot of us, we could create whole guild) - they will not play this for the same reasons.. Because we play for fun and entertainment, not to get dizzy and frustrated with this moving and Fov and ancient looking graphics.. Sorry but we are out and waiting for the next one..
Guild Wars 2 sells 1 million before launch
ArenaNet's pay-once PC MMORPG hits platinum status prior to release today; peak user concurrency of 400,000 reached during head-start period.
ArenaNet's Guild Wars 2 launched today, and it has already racked up some impressive sales. Publisher NCsoft today announced that more than 1 million gamers paid for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game in full prior to its release.
Prepurchasing the game allowed players to take to Tyria ahead of its launch today, and according to NCsoft, users took advantage of this offer in spades. The firm said Guild Wars 2 reached a peak user concurrency figure of over 400,000 during the prerelease play period.
Guild Wars 2 puts players into a persistent fantasy world that is driven by a range of dynamic events. The game costs a fee up front but does not require a monthly paid subscription to continue playing.
The team at ArenaNet has a small group working on a console version of the game, but no announcements have been made concerning Guild Wars 2 arriving outside of the PC.
