Upcoming driving simulation game Gran Turismo 6 will feature the Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit, Bathurst. Sony Computer Entertainment Australia and Polyphony Digital Inc announced the inclusion of the track in a press release today.

The Australian track will be created in-game to mirror its real life counterpart, and will be 6.213 kilometres (4 miles) long. Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of Gran Turismo and president of Polyphony Digital Inc, described the circuit as "one of the toughest tracks out there".

The circuit currently hosts the Bathurst 12 Hour and the Bathurst 1000 races, amongst others.

Gran Turismo 6 will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 3 on December 6. Sony currently has no plans to port the game to the PlayStation Vita, although it is considering a version for the PlayStation 4. A movie based on the Gran Turismo series is also in development, and will tell the life story of Lucas Ordonez, a professional racer who began his career playing Gran Turismo.
