I've never thought that ANY game reviewing website or magazine was credible. Just look at all the DLC that COD MW1 has got; World at War, MW2, Black Ops... they're all DLC but they still get scores to compete with games like Mass Effect 2 and Uncharted 2.
Who wants some Gran Turismo 5?
We just got word from Sony that Gran Turismo 5 is on its way to us for Monday delivery, so we figured we should share the fun with you. We'll be heading over to our local Fed Ex distribution center and grabbing our copy as soon as it opens so we can dive into it.
Then, starting at 9 a.m. (give or take a few minutes depending on how the Fed Ex trip goes), we'll be doing a live Now Playing gameplay marathon for about an hour or so as we dive into the game. If you're around, tune in and feel free to hit us up with questions or leave them here, and we'll answer them as best we can. If you can't watch live, leave us questions anyway and check out the On Demand version of the show.
Gamespot is the one place that scored the GT games fairly (without being so blinded by fanboyism that the review scale for GT games is between 9 and 10 like every other site). GS also ONLY reviews retail copies of every game & not from review parties like MANY sites (not GT5 in particular. just commenting on GS' credible track record).
@pvpaco dude, they don't use wheels here in GS, if you want a review with a wheel, wait for the ISR review, where they treat it like a sim, and use the whole equipment XD
@Civilization_55 dude, if you want to see that game with a wheel, go to ISR and wait for their review. here they use a controller.
please tell me that there is a normal career mode, which is what makes this game so special. u know, where u have to grind it out in the sunday cup and climb the ladder to better avents, choosing ur own route around the game....the other possibility isnt even worth thinking about, oh god no,
Is there going to be any chance that there will be DLC for motorbikes ala SBK2010. Even if there is DLC, what the hell is there to add on? more cars?
@fkbwii thanks for the info duude. Btw if it has grown from 6.4GB to 7.2gb you may just reach 10gb. I pity the guys with the 20gb ps3 who have not upgraded to a larger capacity HDD. @progamemania I hope so too coz I have a sizeable collection of super cars and almost 2 million credit.
@F-14-D_TOMCAT - 6.4GB but it seems the more you play it the more it decompresses stuff. Now it's at 7.2GB
I saw the box of GT5 at the store today, it will be available for Wed 24 , they can't sell them early. Not sure on the CE version as they did not yet have them.
I always have wondered why GameSpot gets there games SO much later than all the other major gaming websites. They are always so behind.
F yeah, this beast is almost here, will be looking forward to this. @fkbwii a whole hour to install ? for real ? Pliz tell how many gigs was the install.
just wondering, will you use be using a wheel.. if yes, which ones ? If possible, could you test the logitech G27 ? (please, it would be such a waste not to use a wheel)
You guys are about two weeks behind GTPlanet.net (when videos and writeups started coming in from Czech Republic), and especially Amar's detailed reporting since Wednesday. We're all over it already, and IGN is reporting they've driven hundreds of laps and cars already, as they work on their review THIS WEEKEND. Not enough clout to get a review copy early, guys? Even anonymous Czech guys have had it for a couple of weeks!
ATTENTION: Just to let GS know, the install time is 50 mins, so you should compensate for that time. (Just got the game in our store)
Great, I have the option of watching the gameplay marathon or going to my court date (both are at 9). Argh, Mondays are always bad. :(
I would like to see the Ferrari F10 (F1) on the Nürburgring... Some Enzo x SLS in Suzuka... If you guys could make it! I'll be there on monday!
My copy was dispatched yesterday from Play.com so i should get it Monday .... Can`t wait Whoohooooo :-D
We will see how it changed the racing gaming, as they say! Cool, thanks GS for this pre look to the game before we get it.
@Vamphaery - The Now Playing page is where you'll find the broadcast once it goes live. @wushin12345 - Yep. GameSpot's not one to charge for archived content, so no worries on that front.
