Gran Turismo 5 release date "soon," GT6 already in development

That's another 10 years..for GT6 LOL...they just released 5 and now Polyphony is now HYPING up GT6?! GeezPleez..i'm still tuning my "hybrid" lol.

@xtoda7 they were finished with five, all that happened was they missed a disc manufacturing deadline. that was the point of this article; five is shipping, and they're already working on six. @everyone else: IMO, the fact they're already working on six despite all the complainers and whiners shows true dedication to their craft. GT5 was an ambitious project, of course it was going to take a few years. It's not a fantasy game where you can create whatever and release it like Duke Nukem Forever, which GT5 is somehow the equivalent of despite that DNF's been in development since the N64/PS days? Really? (And on that note, the delay has one high point coming out of it; DNF might've been a PC only game when it was supposed to come out, but now 2/3 console/PC owners get to play it.) With GT5 you have real cars, licensing issues, music licensing issues, real world race track licensing issues which probably went into a lot of the delays. And that they have over 1000 cars and 70 courses. The game will be out when it's out, play some of the other great games in the mean time for all the systems instead of ***chin and moanin.'

It's official release date is Nov.24 in Europe and North America. That's from Sony.

This annoys me. All energy should be directed at getting 5 out ON TIME. Then start making comments about 6.

Im so excited for this game man, im prepped i bought the G27 wheel and the Play SEat evolution, damn thing cost me more then my playstastion twice fold, but this game is all worth it!!

I don't know the margin of video games these days, but assuming Polyphony is making 20 dollars per game, and they match sales, thats 220 million dollars. 220 million > 60 million. Don't worry. And I think 20 dollars is conservative. Anyone sell video games that can give an estimate?

60 million dollar budget? Are they really going to recoup their losses with this title? How much were the licenses that they purchased to use in this game? They can't be getting that much from each sell? I'm not hating I'm just worried that the next one will be a significant scaled down version if this one doesn't sell well. Cause I'm going to buy a copy, now we just need 15 million other people to buy one too.

I swear this game is going to cost more than my playstation did at the rate it's going. I ain't complaining like, it's going to be immense. But I can't see the RRP being a standard 49.99 :/ To be honest though if the WRC side of things is up to scratch I won't mind ebaying my dog for this!

Wow! 1,000 cars! Amazing! It'll be so much fun to be able to drive that many cars in... 20 locations? 20? I don't care how many "tracks" there are. You know there will be 20 main tracks, then the "reverse" versions (that's 40), then different race types will have specialty courses that are part of the "main track" to make the rest. I would've happily "settled" for 500 cars and 40 locations, or better yet 250 cars and 50 locations. Who is going to race all those cars? That was one of my peeves with Forza3. It was a great racing game, but after you had your choice ride for each class (about 10 cars) the tracks got old because you were racing them (or a derivative) over and over and over. Over 5 years developing and we only get 20 locations???

LoL u guys didn't understand, they're going to skip gran turismo 5 and just launch the 6, by the time this is taking.

If I enjoy playing GT5, I will enjoy playing GT6. But the question is not if I will ENJOY playing GT5, the question is if I will BE playing GT5.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR GT6! By the time GT6 will be announced to be released "soon", I will be watching teasers and trailers for it while traveling on my own personal spaceship flown by my robot butler while talking to my alien best friend about GT6 on my holo-phone and pre-order the game for my 137th birthday!

WOW... GT6!!! i havent even played GT5!!! (probably never will at this rate)

and with the jail break issue.. there will be a way to get around the 3.50 firmware soon (im sure) so will they wait for the next firmware too then it will be a game that is getting constantly getting patched and never released... good way to loose money is piracy?..... heres a better way, piss of the people that will buy your game!

FFS,i dont care what excuses, prologue was suppost to tie us over for a while and then dates keep getting pushed back.... not good enough in my opinion... why not release what they had, make a proper game with the prologue release that as GT5 then continue work and make GT6 later..... just like GT3 and 4. though i can't wait for it to be finnaly released.

Why can't we enjoy our games without comparing the one at hand to the sequel in progress? They should keep this information underwraps for about a year until they actually have it on paper.

they may not have time to put GT6 on PS4 it may have to be PS5 or PS6

We will see GT6 on the PS4 me thinks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the announcement of GT6 was amazingly obvious. They've obviously got more ideas than they could ever fit into GT5, hence the massive delays, so rather than keep this one going they'll finish it off and throw all of the leftover ideas into the next game straight off the bat.

as long as GT5 is worth it i don't mind how long it takes. the quality of the game above all else i say...
