Gran Turismo 5 garaged until fall?

i would say to all gt fans that gt5 will be out at xmas as all the big games do gta 4 was out then and mw2 was out just before and i also know that more stuff was added thats why gt5's not out yet. but when it dose forza 3 NFS will be dead. lol

Seriously how long does it take to make a freakin racing game?? Final Fantasy XIII wasn't even in development for as long...

@ALaGa Perhaps at first, but when a company keeps putting off its release over and over, people tend to start tuning out.....

I think they are doing it on purpose, cause if a game developer announces a game very early, more people will notice it, and when it hits the shelves, more people will buy it

I just can't wait for this game. It looks so good. I hope they hurry up and finish the finishing touches of the game.

I love the GT series but GT5 is becoming the Battlecruiser 3000 AD of its day. Except I'm sure at least if and when it eventually does make it out it won't be the buggy muddled mess that BC3K was. When it finally does make it out I hope Polyphony fixes the new "features" they added to Prologue that make the game frustrating. See my review for more info.

@BuiltForSin I don't think people are pissed off at Sony for taking so long to build what is probably going to be an amazing game. They are frustrated over the constant delays and changing release dates. Don't announce a game's release date unless you are sure you are going to make it. It constantly amazes me how the video game industry just can't seem to get it's act together and learn from the countless other times it has promised a project would be done on a certain date only to be pushed back a full year or more (SC: Conviction, etc).

People are never happy.. I'd rather see a game honed to perfection than rushed out every two years with marginal differences. You want quality games? Your going to have to wait for them.. either quit your b*tching or keep settling for reprocessed crap. This isn't Duke Nukem Forever where they keep talking about starting development.. this is a game that has been left in the cooker the whole time people have been whining.

Damn...:( Well, I suppose I should look on the bright side that at least I know that they are not willing to release something half-assed; plus at least that's a little more money I'll have in my pocket in the first half of this year for some other titles on the horizon (Heavy Rain, Yakuza 3, & GOWIII come to mind). Still blows though havin' to wait some more, though....

I've never been a huge Gran Turismo fan, and given the unending saga of this game, I'm glad. I can't imagine what you fans are going through having this game constantly delayed. Five years of waiting? Unacceptable.

It's been customary to have two [full] GT games per Sony console - GT 1 & 2 on PS2, GT 3 & 4 on PS2.... we're going to be lucky if we even get GT5 for the PS3. We can't count Prologue either, because that was just an overpriced demo. All I can say is, the wait better be damn sure worth it. If it isn't, I think they will have damaged their IP's reputation beyond repair, and I'm the last person to hope that's true. At the moment though, well, I'm not so sure. Prove me wrong Sony/Polyphony - pleeease! @spyfromspace - I think caughtsomefire was exercising a little "sarcasm". Way to take him seriously and all.... :?

i guess i will have to find something else to piz my money away on. not that important - the demo drives just like the others - car flipp'n spins out for no reason and brakes are not true. not so sure i going to buy it . you would think it would be more real life- the physics not the graphics well, sence it is called the real driving simulator in all

it should be "garaged" forever. after a while all racing games become the same. especial when GT4 + NFS:SHIFT just came out

This delay is just getting silly. What the hell are PD going to profitably put in this game that they couldn't have put in a year ago? This will really bite them and Sony on the bum, because , especially post-Forza 3, nothing is going to match the expectations for this game.

There comes a time when you just have to push the product out the door, and with GT5, that time was a couple of years ago. Every delay just damages both the game and the series as it turns from flagship AAA PS exclusive into a long running industry joke or byword for delays

I understand there's a lot of time and effort put into developing a good game. But enough is enough...we've been waiting 5 years for this title!! Release the doggone thing already. If its not ready now, it never will be!!!

If GT5 isn't released in fall, I'm buying an Xbox 360 and fForza 3. Even my hate for that system isn't enough to stop me from enjoying a good, released game.

toyota reports that all their cars in gt5 have problems with the brakes. thats why gt5 is taking so long

they better release it before Forza 4 comes out lol, at this rate that might happen!

Most overrated series ever.

Gran Turismo has always been weak on sounds. I know they supposedly recorded sounds from every real car they could get their hands on, but their audio engineer must not have done a very good job, because the engines STILL sound as tinny and flat as GT1. Physics don't look like they've improved much either (although I admit that's almost impossible to tell from a quick video). I'll reserve final judgment for when I actually have my hands on the game, but every single game since GT2 has been a disappointment. It seems Polyphony Digital only cares about adding a slicker coat of paint and more cars to the same basic engine. I have to admit that I liked the Director Mode in GT4, but that's kind of sad when the best part about a new game is a part that you don't actually actively play. I'm just sick of seeing GT's gameplay stuck in the mud while other modern racers continue to surpass it. Give us some cars that don't handle like bricks covered in molasses, please.

Wow. out little country is pushing alot of info in this ps3 era. First country to cut ps3 price and now this...on the other hand this is GT5, so i expect everything

i hope this GT is amazing in everyway. Prologue, GT HD and the little GT PSN game thats available for free dl off psn at the minute are kind of meh. The PSP incarnation was good in most ways, but the lack of a Race series, cup mode, 24hr endurance etc sucked. And why does GT never include a career mode? It would be great to be able to play as either a famous driver or play the role of an unknown driver and by the end of the game your a champion. Remember the game R:Racing evolution? The ridge racer spinoff that was a GT clone but with less realistic handling cars, less choice of cars and a story mode complete with cut scenes of a hot girl character? well that game was actually pretty good IMO and I would love to see a real story mode in GT as whenever I play GT I get bored as there isnt really any insentive to keep playing. And I cant be bothered collecting every car. But I hope the new GT keeps the tradition of including lesser known cars or just the ordinary 1990s hatchbacks and MPVs that you wouldnt expect them to include e.g peugeot 306, nissan pulsar nissan primera etc.

on the bright side of all this delays by the time it comes out i may have bought a ps3 so sony will make an extra 1 sale and i will play it on day 1

@Windblade91 true true this too big an announcement to come from Sony Portugal But really guys i think when it comes to GT5 both sony, media and gamespot should just keep quiet until the game is complete and they holding the disk in their hands as they make any announcement,So with no disk in hand SHUT UP

@ izmickey Alan Wake? Are yous serious? I doubt there is even one person waiting for that game. 360 owners could care less. Who is Alan Wake anyways? GT is the gold standard for Sony, so they have a lot more to lose for taking so long and 60 million dollars to make ONE game. Alan Wake will fail and I think they know that, which is why it hasn't come out yet.

This is overkill. I have never seen such a profitable series get buried. I really can't imagine what they are thinking. By the time it comes out it won't even be relevant. 60 million dollars for a game? Absolutely ridiculous. Talk about a game stuffed with pork! This game sounds a lot like the US deficit.

I just love how people complain about people complaining that GT is late, common the game is 3 years late. Most including my self are GT fans and no I don't think any thing can justify this kind of delays, Hmm Xbox fan boys must be having a good laugh at as Ps3 owners just about now. I have owned-played every GT ever made but I feel that I have been let down this time, you can wait 1 year but 3 its a joke sorry but it is.

I am absolutely sick of waiting, I bought my PS3 just for this game and it seems that we are still going to wait until 2012 before it's released (Heard rumours that PS4 will be released by that time). Oh and by the way I don't care about Forza and XBox so if Forza is really that good, what are the fanboys doing posting comments on here instead of playing their beloved game?
