Golden Sun: Dark Dawn sets on DS November 29
Camelot-developed handheld role-playing game series ends seven-year hiatus as third installment rises at retail the week after Thanksgiving.
The latest installment in the Golden Sun series has been mostly obscured to date, having been briefly glimpsed at Nintendo's E3 2009 and E3 2010 press conferences. Gamers will soon be getting much more exposure to the Camelot-developed role-playing game franchise, as Nintendo today announced that Golden Sun: Dark Dawn for the DS will launch in stores November 29.
Dark Dawn asks players to save a reborn world from impending catastrophe with the help of Djinn. The Djinn are magical spirits that can be used to call upon the power of gods, whether it's to wipe out enemies or circumvent obstacles and solve puzzles.
The third game in the Golden Sun series, Dark Dawn is set 30 years after the events of the original Game Boy Advance titles in the series. For more on the franchise, check out GameSpot's "glowing" reviews of Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age.
Yeah, sure. I only just started the first one though
I am trying to start up a Golden Sun Union and wanted to know if anyone is interested?
and Seiken Densetsu 3 on DS.
and a final fantasy 7 remake on the play station 3
now all we need is a new shin megami tensie devil children game
I am absolutely thrilled that they are making another Golden Sun game, the first two gave me so many great memories. I agree with [BatmanR20] all the way ._.
Well, I guess that means another preorder. This and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will keep busy until the end of the year!
I've been waiting for 7 years.. The Time has come
@Dennyx Iris was hell the best summon
YES! I don't own a DS, and I never plan to get one; but it makes me SO happy to see one of my favorite and one of the best GBA games continue!
Oh no, I just thought it was going to be released next year, I gave me Ds as a present and now I got to buy a new DS! I was expecting this game by the time the 3DS is release. No!
ugh november is so far! But it's finally coming. Still play both part 1 and lost ages from time to time.
I can't wait to get this game, it's going to be awesome...I have been waiting since 2003 and still have both games. I hope the game codes will come in handy for the DS game, at the end of The Lost Ages you could get a continuation code just like the end of GoldenSun, I hope I can use it...
I thought it was coming out November 1st. I'll have to wait longer...
I'll probably pick it up, since I enjoyed the Game Boy games ... though I almost wish they'd just developed this game for the 3DS instead. Everything I see on the DS seems so outdated now.
A Day one purchase for me! Going to definitely pick me up some Golden Sun! That series is awesome!
Can't wait!!!! It's been too long. The Sun rises again! But it's dark this time...
November's gonna be a great month for Nintendo.
The first two were my top two favorite games on the GBA, I'm hoping this one lives up to it's name.
I've never played the first two, but I really want to give this one a try.
I'll import this and even if it was getting released in europe on the same day, I'd still import because the euro DS game case's are terrible, it's worst than the PS2
Catastrophe, Judgment and Thor are some of my favourite summons. How can i forget Meggido
What about Europe? Any news on the European release date? =)
I can't wait :P I love golden sun hearing the music again is making me feel warm inside
"Hell, it's about time." -Tychus Findlay
thank you, Camelot! please let this be a great gaming experience as the original Golden Sun and The Lost Age have been for me
sun rises again and so my interest in this game.
wait its only 30 years that is epic that means more GS1 and 2 characters. ive been avoiding news to keep it fresh so i dont spoil anything
One of the best investments I'll be making this year.
Waiting With great anticipation! The previous 2 kicked Righteous ass, and I cannot wait for this one to launch the Series to far greater Heights =D
Seriously can't wait for this game. If they've put as much work into the gameplay as they have to those rather jaw-dropping graphics (and if it's anything like the previous instalments, they certainly will have), we're in for a right treat. :D
I have been waiting for almost half my life for this game. The first two are arguably the best RPG's I've ever played, and that's including consoles! This is going to be a phenominal game, but I just hope there's lots of easter eggs and that the characters of old will be in it frequently. Piers and Felix :D
I LOVE the Golden Sun games - however, big problem. I live in the north of England, where Sun isn't exactly plentiful.... so I would have hoped this game was released at the beginning of, rather than just after, the British summer. As it is, I'm going to have to wait til next year to play this now - bah!
alright a new story line not a remake but i hop the characters are cool as ever like in the GBA withe this game am saying goodbye for sleeping the nights of November
If I was the kinda guy that buys consoles/handhelds for particular games, this would be one of those times.
played the first and second both great storys and gameplay for those who don't like the second, i disagree it filled in a lot of the story from the first goldensun. But honestly two of the greatest games I've played.
november is getting better and better....lbp2 and this! cant wait.
November 29, 2010. There got it marked on my calendar. Can't wait to see the world of Weyard again.
It's been such a long wait since the last one came out (7 years to be exact), glad to hear that the latest Golden Sun finally has a release date. The first two Golden Sun games are some of my all-time favorite games, I hope this one continues everything that made those great.
Finally, can't wait.
It's about time.
Wow about time xD
Finally! Here's hoping that it doesn't get delayed; we've already waited for this one long enough.
I loved both the first and the second games and I love the fact that all my levelled up characters in the first games can be used again in the second one. I hope they will live up to the franchise's fame with the third one as I'd been waiting for it since it was announced.
Both GBA RPGs were awesome to say the least..... 2nd one ended kinda "meh" I guess and I hoped this one would pick up very shortly after the ending, but it seems not.... Ah well. Maybe we'll see near 50-year old Issac at some point in this game, lol
Shame it's a week late. In time for the start of holiday shopping, yes, but a week late for when my brother will be home for an extended break from school. :( I want an awesome preorder bonus for this game.
i have the first two but i haven't played them. i am at the first temple at the beginning of the first golden sun. I've been going over all my gba games i haven't played as of late.
OMG... i cant wait LOVED the first. never got into the second but it looked good what i played... GOIN ON MY CHRISTMAS LIST LOL!!!!!!
long overdue
Great news! I have enjoyed the original GBA games for years and I was worried that the series had fallen off the radar. Just another reason why the DS is the handheld system to own!
