God of War 4 reigning September 2012?
Sony Santa Monica's latest Kratos title hitting fall of next year, say sources speaking with UK game magazine.
God of War III shipped last March to glowing reviews and swift sales of over 1 million copies. Now comes word Sony may be readying the next entry in the series for a debut in the fall of 2012.
The news stems from British PlayStation magazine PSM3 (via CVG), which cites sources saying God of War 4 is in development and is being readied for a September 2012 launch.
Following the release of God of War III, franchise producer Steve Caterson told Industry Gamers that though God of War III marked the end of the trilogy, the studio would likely craft more games from the universe.
Additionally, new details concerning where the series might be headed surfaced recently. Last month, a job listing at God of War studio Sony Santa Monica hinted that the next entry in the series was going to offer multiplayer in some form.
