[UPDATE]: Mystery Gears of War project named as Epic Games president Mike Capps reveals People Can Fly "involved" with title to be announced Monday.
The new mystery Gears of War game is being developed in part by Bulletstorm creator People Can Fly, Epic Games president Mike Capps revealed today on Twitter. Responding to a question of whether or not the Warsaw, Poland-based developer had any involvement with the new game, Capps responded energetically, "YES YES YES!"
People Can Fly is no stranger to the Gears of War franchise. Before creating Bulletstorm, the studio developed the much-praised PC version of the original Gears of War. In April, Capps told GameSpot that People Can Fly did initial work on a Bulletstorm sequel, but Epic decided to shelve that project in favor of "a project that was a better fit" for the studio.
Yesterday, Game Informer revealed that a new Gears of War game was in development and shared only one teasing image of the project. Further details on the game will be made available during Microsoft's 2012 Electronic Entertainment Expo media briefing, scheduled for Monday, June 4 at 9:30 a.m. PDT.

[UPDATE]: Game Informer has revealed that the new game is titled Gears of War: Judgment. Additionally, the magazine posted images of two versions of its next cover, which features younger (or at least less grizzled) versions of series staples Baird and Cole.
@EPaul technically, MS only holds Halo IP and RARE studios and Fable IP. Epic games still owns Gears of war. EA owns Bulletstorm.
MS as a publisher is very lenient towards their developers.
Hmmm...I smell Halo! In other words Halo was suppose to be over and done with as well, until they showed Halo 4 the light of day. Now GoW has seen the light of day after another fitting conclusion to an X360 stalwart!
@WiredDreemzAbsolutely. You think they would seriously put two of their biggest moneymakers to bed? Heck no. They're going to end up running it into the ground. Should just quit while they're ahead
Really? Things seemed pretty done in the end of GOW3 , not that i'm not happy about a new installment, just hope they don't milk the franchise and it ends up becoming the new Call of Duty.
@kazumashadow Its already stated its not a sequel to GOW, its a prequel. The details arent specific given by epic cos it is in early stage development.
i m pretty sure its a new character and a slightly different timeline. I know a lot of ppl criticized the game based on the male characters being "Big bro McHuge"
@kazumashadow I agree about the end of GOW 3, but I don't think it'll ever be as bad as CoD, lol. I'm interested in learning more about the world and story and what happened to other characters during the war. All I hope for is that there are some gameplay changes so it's not copy/paste.
We can have slightly a chance that it can come out to PC, the one´s behind are the one´s that did Gears 1 for PC and Bulletstorm also for PC.
great !!!!!! i want more of gears of war +people can fly did an awesome work back in bulletstorm and i am sure i is gonna happend in GOW

@HAMODA seriously they left us hanging after the first game.....even halo 3 should be released for pc.....but they won't because they want us to buy the Sh!tbox and play on lower/medium settings @ 30fps
Hmm so is it safe to say anything to do woth Gears of War 1 from the books like Aspho Fields they are releasing as DLC as they did that with Jacentos Remanat and all other books which are not fillers becoming games then?
Seriously...? Another one? The third was technically awesome, but the story telling was awful -thanks Karen Travis- I just don't deem a new Gears nessesary. See how it goes, but I don't see how this can be anything other than making money. Can anyone say 'cash cow'?
@killip everyone milks the cash cow look at starwars
Don't talk to me about Star Wars. lol That is a whole other level of milking. Everytime I hear the name I shudder.
@killip I agree completely, the story is absolutely done, now it is pretty obvious they are milking it, truly a sad destiny to an awesome saga that simply didn't need another game.
@kazumashadow It's a prequel...We got a 79-year long Pendulum Wars and a 14-year long Locust war that can give us some nice story.
Another gears of war game sounds good they have been quality 3rd person shooters so far. One thing i don't get is does Earth Exist in GOW , that always confuses me.
bulletstorm was horrible
i dont expect the new gear to be awesome unlike the m$ fanboy who no matter what even if the game sucks they will say otherwise
@Albaficas It was good for what it was...a game to kill people in style and just enjoy the slaughtering of bad guys. If you bought it for a deep plot or thorough characters then clearly you bought the wrong game
@ztg360 Considering the game is mostly about killing guys with chainsaws and shooting stuff the characters are very well developed when compared to other shooters.
@Albaficas Gamespot thought it was great.

@chilly-chill At a minimum it isn't less true than a random internet entity's opinion no one cares about. Anyone would half a brain knows who gets the more qualified opinion.
Unless we're talking IGN. Than I'm with the random internet entities, thank you.
just because the game is being announced doesnt mean its coming out this or even next year. so chill on the "Gears 3 just came out"
hopefully there's a PC version of GoW2 and 3, really loved how 1 played on PC or even a sequel to Bulletstorm... The Unreal engine is simply epic
@saiyangeek I wish to but doubtfulness is filling the air, its kinda hard to make an Xbox 360 exclusive game onto a PC when it was marked as EXCLUSIVE to XBOX360. But I've played both game so no more big surprise for me any longer...... Still want a PC version though :(
@WillyChong The reason it hasn't happen is because Epic is so afraid of piracy. Even tho sales of PC games have gone way up because of Steam and other services. You are only fooling yourself if you think consoles are safe. Piracy is everywhere. Yeah is more so on PC but, it also happens on consoles. Either way you are losing money. I'll say it again people that have no intention of buying your product isn't going to. It doesn't matter what game it is or what platform is on.
@ExplicitMike .ya good point, Crysis 2 had that unfortunate dubious distinction of most pirated PC game which made the general PC gaming outlook more bleak, @WillyChong ya, when the original Crysis was announced for X360 it didn't make a lot of PC gamers happy but let's all hope :)
@y3ivanYou are right about MS having a great relationship with Epic but, I didn't say it was the only reason. It is well documented how much Gears 1 was pirated and Epic took it as that's all people do on PC. It doesn't matter what they used to think. Seeing how now they are gonna release a PC exclusive and hopefully Fortnite on it.
@ExplicitMikedoubt that the only reason. Epic has been a very close with MS and also plays a role in development of the x360. Its pretty much a no brainer that most of their projects will be sponsored by MS
Hell yeah, that game ruled! Great stress reliever. Sad when I heard the sequel got put on the back burner
I enjoy Gears of War and it is far from milked as some people imply. There have only been 3 Gears, and they've been spaced out. Each game is pretty unique too.
As a huge Gears fan myself, I can honestly say that the only truely unique Gears game was Gears 1.

@chilly-chill more unique than other series. Gears 2 introduced horde mode and bigger multiplayer options. Gears 3 has horde mode on steroids and tons of multiplayer options. 4-player co-op campaign. look at the graphics between gears 1 and gears 3. amazing. the difference between gears 1 to 3 is much bigger than the difference from halo 3 to reach or mw1 to mw3.
@deadmonkey76 i remember playing kill switch for the xbox. The gameplay was clunky and for some reason, you have unlimited flashbangs
@Albaficas you are an idiot kill switch was also on xbox know your facts before spewing stupidity from your mouth fanboy troll else where on another note majority of what sony does along with what everyone else does is take ideas from other devs and make it there own look at bullet time was first used on matrix then maxpayne so please shut up
@chilly-chill if you play the 1st gears and then play the second one there is an astronomical difference in mechanics alone. gears1 moves at a snail's pace in contrast to two. while there are fewer differences between 2 and 3 I still say that 3's campaign is by far more emotional than the other 2 and they all have a unique feel to them and thus have more variety in their 3 games than many have in even larger series *cough* battlefield *cough*
@Albaficas haha. that answer proves you're not a gamer. just a fanboy. a gamer loves games of all systems.
@dirtyvu whats unique lol plz...the story is one of the worst this gen ever had
the cover system is direct copy from a ps2 game called kill.switch
nothing changed all gears are exactly the same.
anw another boring m$ conferance i bet...another halo another gears and another flopza....i wait sony wich probably gonna win again and nintendo
