Gears of War 3 churns out next DLC Jan. 17

@y3ivan your pressin the wrong buttons! lol i did the same thing. on the wall opposite of the mulcher on rustlung is a cage thing and each game type is different but after a certain amount of time a voice will come over the loud speakers saying "silverback stage 1" or something like that. go to the cage i mentioned above and there a box you can interact with. do it and then the silverback raises up. takes it a couple seconds though so find cover! lol hope this helps

@Cronicx- how to deploy silverback? The blue buttons just raise n lower the bombs

this is why gears will forever have the best multiplayer experience. from awesome dlc to a company that actually cares about it gamers enough to host frequent events i.e. "can you dig it?!" "brothers to the end" "torque bow tag" "thanksgibbing" and all the other stuff they give to us, instead of just milking our interest for 3 months and then poppin out 4 new maps that are exactly the same *cough* CALL OF DUTY *cough*. anyone who disputes that all gear maps are the same, remember the new map rustlung that had a SILVERBACK on it?! yea cuz thats on every map. epic did an amazing job and they made it so that gears will always be my favorite. GOW FTW!

So now their giving away my skin i earned from the beta great, minus as well give them all flaming gun skins from the beta and all pre-oder skins from retails.

As much as new content is welcome, Epic Games really needs to fix people losing their rank & all stats thanks to an overlooked glitch that carried over from gears2

I love Gears, I used to hate Gears of War 2, but that was because I was determined to get all of the achievements before Gears of War 3 came out. I went from level 27 to 100 in a month, went from 2,000 to 100,000 kills in a couple of weeks, and paid all of my horde respects. I've got to say, holding my golden Gnasher, it was well worth it. My lady left me though, her loss.

Wow Gears is crankin' !! Gears sets a new high bar for graphics on console!! No wonder. I mean it takes full advantage of the Xbox 360's SUPERIOR hardware and Epic doesn't have to try and dumb it down so the ps3 over priced interet ready blu ray player and try and run it too. @penpusher Hey, if a Warboss or even a Nob is able to take down a Space Marine (A single soldier who's roughly 10x more powerful than ANY CoG) than I'm sure they can take on RAAM :P What I'm saying is, there is MUCH more harcore stuff out their than Gears (Shocking I know, lol) and I was just making an example of the ONE THING Gears has set out to ridicule to save their series' originality ploy. Also, like Draken_Domingo said, I'm pretty sure I got thumbs downed because I came across as more of a trolling douche than someone with a legitimate hatrid towards the games. Like UI said, I like Gears 3 (Hate the other 2) but that doesn't mean I like the community. I'm just glad to know there are SOME of us out there who play Gears who know better. :)

@dxBIGBOSSxb *brofist* honestly it wasn't until I saw something about Orkz did I have to say something, since I'm an Ork player myself XD Yeah I'm not gonna deny, I hated when people compared Space Marine to Gears...don't get me wrong, even I think the play style is Gears-like, but it's more of a hybrid between Gears, Beat-em-ups and just pure Action shooters. I loved it, but hearing people say "WHY PLAY A GEARS CLONE HUR DUR" makes me wanna bash some skulls. So you sir have my respects as well XD

Does the prestige-like feature mean you will have to unlock everything again like in Call of Duty, or is it just a way to earn more weapon skins? I'm hoping for the latter.

I play both games, and I happened to have played Fantasy on game night at the time. True, a single Nob, or heck, even enough Ork Boyz could kick his butt given enough good "Choppas", backed up by a couple "Big Shoota Boys" or even just some normal "Shoota Boyz". Still it would please my soul to see RAAM get destroyed in combat by the Goffs and their epic leader Ghazghkull Thraka, just to see the fanboys weep. (Althoug I'm more of a "Chaos" person myself) Also, I only compare the two because when Space Marine was coming out, the fanboys did a pretty good job trying to act comparative and bias towards the game because it looked slightly familiar to them. People were saying things like "'Epic should sew these guys!', 'It's too much like Gears!', 'Lol, look at the failed Gears clone', 'All they did was switch Locust with Orks! It's a Gears knock off!', (My personal favorite I actually read) 'I tried playing it... it's too much like Gears. I hope Epic buys their license back, it's a sad day in gamin indeed when everyone has to knock off Gears like that Uncharted series.'" Lol, yeah I came off as a douche, but the community deserves it given all the crap I take from them year around. Honestly I'd give my troll a 5/10 as average, since I did happen to touch a nerve and make SOMEONE respond. Don't get me wrong, you have my respects :P

I am glad they are releasing the exclusive skins, just think they should be a free DL and not part of the map pack.

@dxBIGBOSSxb 1. Comparing Gears to 40k is just stupid, I've heard this argument before it the only two things anyone could point out were CHAINSAWS and GRIM DARK 2. No one really cares if you were thumbed or not, of course your going to get thumbed down since your just TRYING to troll people, but really I think it's more or less because your making yourself look like a douche and not because your insulting RAAM 3. RAAM's Shadow, though I agree should have been included, was indeed a better offering then the joke that was the Horde Command pack. So I believe if anything Epic redeemed themselves with RAAM's Shadow. 4. RAAM vs 'Orc' Warboss...ok, sorry dude, seriously? It's spelt Ork first off, since your talking 40k not Fantasy, and two, a Warboss isn't even needed...Nob would be more logical canon wise. Know your s***. as a beta player it kinda sucks to see a skin (thrashball cole) i earned just get sold with dlc like that. it's also kinda weird that you can only get access to a prestige system of sorts by paying.

RAAM's Shadow was totally worth it . . . Horde Command pack, not so much worth it unless all the friends you play horde with got it too . . . this one . . . -sigh- I liked the idea that I could be Cole Train in Thrashball gear because I unlocked that during the beta . . . not because of some DLC. And the whole "resetting" thing was enevitable . . . Oh well. I hope they come out with more campaign stuff, cauz like I said, RAAM's shadow rocked.

I've always been a fan of Gears of War, and while I have yet to play RAAM's Shadow, I've never been disappointed with the DLC. I'm sure the same thing will be with this. Don't met me down Epic.

5 exclusive maps, thats pretty cool. A ?prestige? mode? Wouldnt even think of that for this game. Great idea to keep the people playing. Hope they have a double XP event right before it releases, i'm so close!

*Reads article* Hey, that's great! Guess what? I don't care! Seriously, anything is better than that scamming POS General RAAM DLC. Yeah, I'm gonna get hate, "how dare I insult a slightly bigger Locust wearing a mix between the Nightrider Jacket and the letter 'M'! Oh the horror" At least THIS DLC gives you SOMETHING WORTH THE MONEY. While I hate the first two Gears with a fiery passion, and like the 3rd game, I need to ask. Is all this necessary? I mean the DLC craze has been going for a while, but it's at the point right now where mainstream games simply withhold cut content from their games, then wait, and finally release it a few weeks or months later and say it's completely new. They're doing it with MW3, with the first map pack being maps from the FIRST TWO MODERN WARFARE GAMES!!! ARE YOU f***ing KIDDING ME!!! Whatever, I just hope you guys got the season pass, because if you didn't you're just another sucker with his hand in the cookie jar.

Just the 5 maps for $10 would be better than almost all other shooter DLC. Epic now has even more of my respect.

I was trying to not get to a level 100 so fast, I just hit a lvl 99 last night, and i wanted to pace myself so I could enjoy all the new maps. Now that we can prestige, i will gladly get this 100 and do it all again. I tell ya, gears of war gives you bang for your buck, campaign dlc, maps, weapon and character skins, this is how a season pass should be done. Take note other developers!

Both Will Kinsler (@raczilla) and Rod Fergusson (@GearsViking) confirmed for me on Twitter that the Thrashball Cole in this DLC is not the same as the one from the Beta, so even though I got Savage Kantus already from preordering, I'm still looking forward to this pack.

To be honest, I'm disappointed in this new DLC, I expect a new DLC Campaign just like RAAM of Shadow [which I had a blast with] and I was hoping for a new Campaign over some maps but at lease I got the Season Pass so as long as it's free, I'm okay with that.

i'm glad i have the season pass. if i didn't, all this dlc stuff would've been a nightmare. there's a LOT of dlc for this game.
