Gears of War 3 beta schedule detailed

@littleghostie I'd imagine it would be a little daunting, Gears community is pretty crazy. For players like you though I'm sure they'll bring back the whole training bit. :)

I PLAY GAMES ONLINE TO BE ABLE TO WIN AND GET A FAIR AMOUNT OF KILLS GETTING 7 ,12 KILLS WHILE THE LEADERS HAVE 30,40 KILLS FROM ,WHICH ARE USUALLY ON THE OTHER TEAM ISN'T REAL FUN.OTHER THAN THAT I LOVE THE GAME ITSELF AND EVENTUALLY I WILL GET IT FOR THE COLLECTION TO FINISH THE STORY.

Fighting humans is very hard and kinda boring, i got into a match with all bots though and that was pretty fun.

Gears is the reason I stopped playing 3rd person shooters. Games clunky. Guess I'm going to wait till mw3 for a new shooter.

I would like to be able to select something other than a shotgun for my secondary. Yes, I know I can swap it out for another weapon once the match is going, but holding the X button to pick stuff up is annoying and even more so when it doesn't register, thus having to do it again. Unfortunately, the shotguns appear to be the weapons that will be the most abused in this game just like the prior one. I wish the Oneshot had an adjustable zoom. Otherwise. I've had some enjoyment from playing the beta.

@LoveSack Now that I've been playing the beta more, I couldn't agree more! The accuracy is a lot better to handle now that I'm using it more. I've gotten a couple kills unintentionally. It's one of my favorites now! I really enjoy it.

@orb_03_2006 i thought that too when i first played it. but you get used to it very quickly and because its so powerful you can kill people quite easily with it regardless of the accuracy. its my favorite gun now!

My only complaint is that Carmine is not around T T that and sometimes the Gnasher still f**** you up from afar and when you are at close range there are times when you don't blow the foe away, plus sometimes the sawed off will tear you appart even from the distance. And the retro charge is almost imposible to avoid, even if you jump out of the way it's gonna hit you. Other than that, it is great, and when you feel like cursing Gears 3, just play a match of Gears 2 and you will appreciate Gears 3 XD @orb_03_2006 Shoot it as if it was the Hammerburst, you know, you hit the trigger "shot by shot", that way it won't have all that recoil.

The Gears of war 3 Beta is a blast thus far. Weapons seem fairly balanced. A ton of fun. Can't wait until September 20th

I love the weapon balance! My only complaint is the Retro lancer. It tears through you, and the crosshairs are TOO crazy. I mean seriously, AS SOON as I start to shoot my accuracy turns to crap.

I've been playing the beta and getting killed, but still loving it!!!

I'm enjoying it. I like that assault rifles are now a viable option rather than it being shotguns or level specific weapons all the time. The maps are good, I'm a fan of the sandstorm feature on Trenches. Team deathmatch with the limited spawns is an enjoyable mode. I'm as wonderfully bad at this as I was at the previous games, happy times!

I'm going to miss blaming host for everything lol The beta is Awesome!!

@Sirbobislost True even Killzone 3s dedicated servers won't show you your ping, most likey over 200ms.

Yestiday i took my chance to play GoW beta. It whas awsome!

@gobbo00 Unfortunately dedicated servers for console games just don't happen that P2P crud is cheaper

Never really been interested on the Gears MP played a bit of survival mode over a local network with some friends but I've always been more interested in the single player I'd like to change that and give it a try but it means I need to buy bullet storm and I've played it already hopefully itll be nice and cheap somewhere

I am just sick of having to play this game in P2P, dedicated servers or nothing Epic! You can tell if you are playing in a dedicated server just by player movement.

@-Fable- well I figure as such, but I didn't remember there being a mode that was just normal shoot-em up team death match with respawns in the previous titles, so I was a bit worried they were trying to make it closer to a Call of Duty or something. If the more tactical modes are in the game, then I will playing a ton. It has just gotten annoying that in every team-death match I have played, the guy at the top half the time is a guy that just stands around holding the trigger down on his lancer.

Seems like people are digging it.

ummm, look at the date of this article! As of the date this article was published, Old Town and King of the Hill have been available!!! Actually, one day, maybe the 3 or 4th, I played TDM on Old Town... I don't know if it was an accident or what, but it was cool getting to play it early. It was only one match, and the next day, I had trouble remembering what the 4th map was, and was wondering why I was not getting it anymore... and then I recognized it once I was able to play KOH. 8 matches until I unlock Cole!

I love the MP beta so far, but I get a real black ops feel. And maybe that's because I have been playing black ops for months now. Kick ass though so far.

@Chico_Azteca its aimed at the real fans who want to help improve the game, the same people who will pre-order the game regardless of a beta, so they aren't really charging you at all

I can actually get more than 2kills now. I started gears 2 late and could not get into it what so ever, now i'm actually having fun & getting kills. great beta. thumbs up Epic!

I love the beta! It feels pretty perfect the way it is right now. However, I've played on all 4 of these maps, so Gamespot is wrong. It's only $5, and technically you can cancel your preorder afterward. The gameplay feels like a mash between Gears 1 and new gameplay - which is great! (Since Gears 2 felt broken imo) I'm glad Epic put incentives to keep me playing. I quit most betas after about 2 days.

Ok, what ever happened to Execution mode? I don't want my gears to be full of Spray and Pray Lancer fights, with everyone just trying to kill each other from across them map with machine guns. The previous Gears games were far more fun, having to get kills close range, unless you were using an explosive, or got a headshot. Plus the other thing I miss is not having respawns, it isn't even that tactical anymore because it doesn't matter if you die. The game is fun to play, but it is nothing like the original Gears and that is what I was praying for.

retro lancer running up move and the lancer chainsaw still get people even if there getting shot by a far distant hope they fix that, and the saw off shotgun is way to over power

Never played Gears online before and today was the first day I played the Gears 3 beta. I bought bulletstorm but was so insanely busy last week I couldn't even play it. So far I'm not that great at the game but I feel like I'm getting better. I really like the shottys but there seems to be a hit detection (or lack of) issue. I'm really not a fan of how teammates can steal your kill when you down an enemy though, very irritating!

Cliffy B better fix the "dedicated servers" that have been down since Tuesday April 19...

Far superior to the Gears 2 MP, which was broken. There are some hit-detection issues with the shotty and I feel the rifles should be a smidge less powerful, but it's a blast to play.

beta is great , everything is balanced and the maps are fun

Loving it so far :) I love aiming down the sights on the hammerburst to strike enemies from afar and trying to get used to the retro lancers powerful recoil.

beta is awesome. the graphics are brilliant. shot-guns are so hit an miss though. sometimes you can shotgun a guy in the face 3 times with no result then he clips you on the elbow and kills you

Been playin with my Bulletstorm beta, its much more balanced than the last two games, I think they've found a place between shotties and rifles so there is balance between long range and short range battles, and the sawed-off is SWEET! Finally a weapon to give the gnasher some competition! The games are on dedicated servers now too (even in the beta) so there is no obvious host advantage anymore, and although it still seems to take a while to get into matches (probably because it's the beta) they have streamlined the process a bit. I'm loving GoW3 so far, it's so intense, I can't wait for the full game. @dkdk999 As of today everyone who preordered/preorders GoW3 gets a beta code, and if you bought Bulletstorm you got it a week ago, and if you work at a Gamestop or something you got to play 2 weeks ago.
