Gears of War 3 beta packed in with Bulletstorm: Epic Edition

I'm just going to buy this game just for the Gears of war 3 beta. The epic edition has the beta. Otherwise I most likely wouldn't buy this game at all.

@CEMETARY_GATESx How's it lame? It's a good marketing tactic; lots of Gears fans will buy the game just for the already established Gears Of War beta. That'll encourage loads of people to buy and in turn potentially a huge fan base for Bulletstorm. For Epic that means they'll have eye like: "$$$".That's business I'm afraid and I highly doubt you'll be able to get it anywhere else unless you are a beta tester.

I think its lame to give a beta only for those who but another product by the same company. Hopefully there will be other ways to get into the beta because this game doesn't interest me at all.

@vgdude887 yet another game I have wanted to buy, yet another beta I doubt I will spend much time on. Loathed Halo 2. Hated Gears of War 2. Adored Gears of War 1 and Halo 1. Hated Halo 3 _____ Gears of War 3.

This game is still going to bomb, but it was smart adding the Gears of War 3 so they sell a few more copies.

These closed betas are so friggin annoying.......Just leave it open MS FFS. Now I have to wait until it releases to play even a bit of it because I'm not buying this crap just to play a demo.

Shame for Bulletstorm. I feel games that are needing a pack-in high profile 'beta' to boost sales usually suck /often feel rushed ("cough *ODST/Reach* cough") and the publisher must have such little confidence in the core product - hoping to sell by pure leeching from inclusion of a "Beta". :(

it would have been awesome to have the beta on all disks/consoles yes ps3 included not that i want you to have gears mass effect was one too many

I didn't care about the beta it just looked like a cool game that I read about a few months ago. Now I will just have to reserve it because everyone I know that has gears will buy the game.

First: If you're buying Bulletstorm just for a beta - then the beta can't be construed as "free". If you were going to buy Bulletstorm either way, then the beta is a "bonus". If you were on the fence about buying Bulletstorm, the beta may provide an "incentive" to purchase it, if you like Gears Of War. My point is: it's completely subjective what you think of as "free."

Bulletstorm seems like an EPIC game and xbox gamers should be happy with the beta codes in the 'Epic Edition' of the game. Can't believe i'll be missing out on this coz of Killzone 3. But i'll pick it up in the like couple of months later.

Gears of War 3 has nothing on Killzone 3. 2011 is the year for PS3. We have Killzone 3,LBP 2,InFamous 2,Resistence 3,Uncharted 3 any many more PS3 Exclusives that the ****box cant even compete with.

@demaster101 don't tell them that...its the only straw they have to grasp on that some how a guranteed beta invite being in bulletstorm means that will be the only possible way to get into the free public beta which epic has gone on record many times before now saying they will have for Gears of war 3 in early 2011...

@hannify so you paid for PS+ and got in a beta? I find it funny how you've yet to disprove me, you claimed Microsoft never does Free public beta's yet I've proven otherwise...

It doesn't mention it here but Bulletstorm only provides earlier access to the beta.EPIC haven't said how yet but its definitely going to be available as a standalone as well.

@zer0ne Yea but I wanna make sure the Multiplayer in Gears of War 3 doesn't end up being a train wreck like it was in Gears of War 2 besides I was already planning on getting Bulletstorm just not for the 360 but now I'm gonna get the 360 version. But it does sux for those ppl who have no interest in Bulletstorm and just wanna participate in the beta.

This is a way just to get more sales same thing with Medal of Honor. Still though its not a bad way to sell merchandise. Honestly the epic edition doesn't sound epic at all. The only thing that appeals in my opinion is the Beta.

So, now we know how bad bulletstorn will actually be.

It comes with the Special (or "Epic") Edition, not all copies. That's forking out about thirty more dollars here in Australia. Consider me not interesting for this "Epic" Edition, but I'll still try out the standard edition. As for Gears 3, I'll just wait.

It's a good idea but since I'll be getting gears3 anyway I'll wait and see what the ps3 and PC offers are before I pick a console

Honestly...I would have still bought this game without the beta code..but theyre adding it so it that much sweeter.

They want to make sure that the Bulletstorm is going to sell, so every one loves Gears is going to buy Bulletstorm.

Still getting this for the Ps3. I'll buy Gears 3 when it's released. Betas have never interested me.

Bulletstorm looks awesome, not really excited about gears though. Will probably get Bulletstorm for my PS3, although I do own a 360.

I was planning on getting Bullet Storm just not for the 360 but for the PS3 because of the multiplayer but considering the beta invite and the fact that the epic edition cost the same I'll probably pick this one up for the 360 but not on release day of course because this game made the mistake of releasing on the same day as Killzone 3 and there's no game I'm getting before I get Killzone. The only downside to getting this game on the 360 is now I'm gonna have to shell out extra cash for a Xboxlive sub just to play this game and the Gears 3 beta online bummer.

Well if you are a cold hard Gears fan you will do this action but its so hard not to get the Beta.Plus the reason they pushed the game back is because Cliff didn't want a repeat of Gears 2 muti even thru it has dedicated servers they want to make sure the game is right before launch so i am not upset with that.Now getting the beta with a game that i really have no interest in is crazy but i am going to have to buy and the only reason i am buying the game on the 22nd is because i am a true Gears fan.

Bulletstorm might be a sleeper hit - Even though it leeches on Gears 3 fame - Just like back then when Crackdown 1 comes with the Halo 3 beta invitation.
