GBA Video deal for Strawberry Shortcake
Majesco announces that Strawberry Shortcake is the latest cartoon character to be signed for its upcoming GBA Video range.
Majesco has today announced a deal with DIC Entertainment that sees American Greetings' Strawberry Shortcake added to the roster of characters whose cartoon shows will be appearing on Game Boy Advance Video this spring. Under the terms of the agreement, Majesco secures the US and Canadian rights to apply its proprietary technology to the Strawberry Shortcake brand.
"We are excited to work with Majesco to introduce Strawberry Shortcake to the extensive Game Boy Advance audience," said Nancy Bassett, senior vice president, worldwide consumer products, DIC Entertainment. "With this new technology now available, fans will enjoy a truly interactive experience as they follow Strawberry Shortcake and her pals on all their adventures."
"The popularity of Strawberry Shortcake resonates as deeply with little girls today as it did 20-some years ago," added Mike Brown, vice president of licensing, American Greetings. "To combine her with leading-edge technology demonstrates how on target we were with updating the character for today's kids."
The first Strawberry Shortcake Game Boy Advance Video title will contain two 22-minute, edited episodes--"Meet Strawberry Shortcake" and "Spring for Strawberry Shortcake." For more information on Majesco's GBA Video lineup, check out the company's official Web site.
