Gamers documentary to debut at CPL
A feature-length documentary focused on competitive gaming will be first shown at the CPL Championships next week.
The filmmaker behind Gamers has announced that his documentary on the competitive Counter-Strike community will have its first screening at the Summer 2003 Cyberathlete Professional League Championships on Friday, August 1, at 11pm. Gamers is the debut film of Kiyash Monsef and tells the stories of two Counter-Strike clans trying to reach the CPL Championships. The film also looks at the relationships that players form through the game and includes interviews with one of Counter-Strike's creators, Jess Cliffe, GameSpot's own Greg Kasavin, and CPL founder Angel Munoz.
Gamers will later be available for purchase in DVD format at TheGamingProject.com.
