Publisher picks up Replay Studios' WWII stealth actioner, amends release date to fall 2008.
Since being unveiled in July 2006, Replay Studios' WWII stealth action game Sabotage seemingly went covert after missing its projected Q4 release on the PC. However, the indie developer's project has emerged from the shadows today, as Gamecock Media Group announced that it had acquired the publishing rights for a PC and Xbox 360 version of the game, due out in fall 2008.
It would appear the reason for the hold was a change in direction for the project. Still inspired by the life of British special operative and WWII heroine Violette Szabo, Sabotage now features a surreal storyline in which players act out Violette's missions as she lays unconscious in a hospital dormitory.
Not entirely unlike Pandemic Studios' upcoming stealth action game Saboteur, players will be dropped behind enemy lines in occupied Europe to violently undermine the Third Reich. As the game plays out through the heroine's subconscious, the game will feature stylized artwork and combat sequences.
Sabotage has not yet been rated or priced. For more on the game, hit up the Sabotage's official Web site.
Oooo, I've read about Saboteur, now that's an awesome looking game. Way to add some flavor to WW2 games.
For a moment there, I thought the headlines were saying that Gamecock wrote a virus to destroy PCs & 360s! It's just a WWII game..what a relief.
I think WW2 shooters are fun and will always be fun. Every single one may copy ideas from each other but everyone is a little different and its always getting better and more realistic, if u dont like WW2 games, stop **** ing commenting on them you dumb ****s
Wow. Did this just completely steal an idea from Pandemic or did Pandemic copy this company? Not saying either will be bad, but...I saw Saboteur first so I think this game is copying Pandemic.
Get over the fact that is a WWII game. It is a great setting for any movie/game. Its pretty much one of the few modern day wars that both sides were on equal footing. So if it is a good game then I will play it and I think you should get over your self and stop saying you wont based on its time period.
World War shooters suck... I'm not buying this game, even if it's wicked different... Still a damn World War shooter.
i'm tired of GS trying to be smart and witty with these titles, i just want to know the headline AS IS. If i want more information, then I will click on the link. F'ing GS.
don't worry i gave you a +1 to make up for the guy getting upset about the 'gamecock' jokes =p game looks interesting. not much detail here.
"A gamecock is a rooster used in cockfights. Get a vocabulary." Sorry, didn't realise people had to ask your permission before we could have a laugh on here once in a while. Let me reiterate: Gamecock.........HAHAHAHAHA. There. Upset now?
If it's like an FPS of Commandos, I'm up for it...if it's like the Commandos FPS was, they should sod off.
"someone is rating and the laughing coments about the name gameCOCK with a minus gameCOCK" Yeah, they're a bunch of gamecocks.
ok will try to focus in teh article: good news for the XBOX360 but i think that ther should be a Wii version, since i think that they will make the PS3 one later or anothe rgame for it and also...... omg Gamecock lol!!! lol!!!
Gamecock sure are making alot of games (including one with Wide Load) and those who never heard of their name are noobs since there have been muliple articles on their games on GS in recent times.
lol I wonder how many sony fanboys read this headline expecting bad news for the 360 and PC only to find when they read the article that yet another game developer has left them out.
Gamecocks is a south carolina college team.. so the 5th grader bit was stupid... and yeah they suck... hahaha... anyways i could careless about these games WW2 is so old now or any other game we have played... hence the reason cod4 is modern they knew the scene was getting old...laterz..
WTF is with the picture caption... This isn't what the beastie boys had in mind... Can anyone explain
