Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2010 noms en-Rage-d
Id's postapocalyptic actioner leads multipublication panel's award nominees; Epic Mickey, Dance Central, and Portal 2 all net four nods each; winners to be revealed next week.
Over two weeks after the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo ended, the 46,500-person convention continues to make headlines. Today, the Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2010 nominees were announced, with id Software's Rage leading the pack with five nominations, including Best of Show, Best Original Game, Best Console Game, Best PC game, and best Action game. Though it has no firm release date, the postapocalyptic action and car combat game will be published by Bethesda Softworks simultaneously on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac.
Also lauded by the Game Critics' judges, which includes editors from 31 media outlets including GameSpot, was Epic Mickey. The Wii-exclusive new take on Disney's iconic rodent was nominated in four categories, including Best of Show, Best Action/Adventure Game, Best Original Game, and Best Console Game.
Portal 2 also racked up a quartet of nods from the jury following the shock announcement that the dimension-hopping action platformer--previously announced for the PC and Xbox 360--is coming to the PS3 in early 2011. Also racking up four nominations was Dance Central, the upcoming Xbox 360-exclusive dancing game, which uses the Kinect motion-sensing system.
A full list of the Game Critics: Best of E3 2010 is below, and the winners will be revealed on Tuesday, July 6. GameSpot just announced its own individual Best of E3 2010 Winners, viewable in the video below.

I just thought of this...don't you think it'd be a bit weird for Warren Spector having a Deus Ex title at the show, and him having nothing to do with it?
what kind of lists is this a drunk list or a total trash list??? its just too much the same cr@#p over and over with no place for other games
@ Vojtass What make you say that? None of them being in HD? None of them being on a home console? None of them being western styled? Are you aware that DQ IX sold 4.2M only on Japan? Are you aware that GS was probably the best RPG to ever set foot on the GBA? And has being begging for a sequel for 7 years? And that FFgaiden is a throwback to the firsts FF games that made the series what they are? I beg to differ, but this 3 games are excellent games, and although the other might be also good games, some of this games should be on that list... they're clearly favoring western style RPGs. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

I just hope RAGE lives up to its hype, which are mainly because of the beautiful graphics. Maybe ID learned a few things from Doom 3. I want Rage to blow us all away.

Ha ha for Kirby winning the award for best of show. Too funny. Interesting how Playstation seems to be upping their ante. I'm waiting for Dead Space 2, Rage, Mortal Kombat, Crysis 2 and Guild Wars 2. Those are games for this year and next.
I see Black Ops didnt do too well. People must be sick of being dissapointed every time. I guess we will soon see if Treyarch can prove everybody wrong, or not.

Deus Ex: HR likely deserves nomination in more than one category, outside that crowded Best RPG list.
It also kind of sucks that dead space is nominated so much. i mean ya it was awesome and crazy but it's kinda like they are ignoring a lot of other games that could have won one of those titles instead

Such Sony haters.. I'm not into the 'Move', but the exclusives for Sony (KZ3,LBP2,Twisted Metal, Infamous 2) are great enough titles to get some recognition and cleaned up shop in my opinion..

Good to see "Dance Central" getting some props. The game looks to be light years ahead of any dancing/rhythm game on the market right now.
