Complimentary Portal 2: Peer Review add-on arriving Tuesday for PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PS3; new co-op test track, Challenge mode included.
Following the release of the well-received Portal 2 in April, Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi said the puzzle game would receive free downloadable content over the summer. However, summer has come and gone without further word on the DLC.
Valve ended its silence today, titling the complimentary DLC "Portal 2: Peer Review" and scheduling it to arrive simultaneously on the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 next Tuesday, October 4.
The pack continues the cooperative adventures of P-Body and Atlas, who will ultimately take on GLaDOS in a new test track. The pack also includes a Challenge mode playable both in single-player and co-op, as well as leaderboard support.
Portal 2--which has shipped 2 million units--is the continuation of the 2007 Orange Box pack-in Portal. The single-player portion of the new title continues the travails of human lab rat Chell, who in the original game used a portal gun to create interdimensional openings on ceilings, walls, and floors in an effort to escape the Aperture Science labs and thwart the diabolical artificial intelligence known as GLaDOS.

@ShurmNoaks I know, right? I did not expect a news story about DLC to reveal to me the LAST BOSS in the DLC. Smoooooooooth.
I would've like to have found out on my own who they fight at the end.... thanks for the damn spoiler ass.
Makes me want to buy their next game just because they don't make a habit of nickle and diming like everyone else. Respect Valve.
...and Half Life 2 episode 3 / Half Life 3 is how complete now? Honestly, as nice a game as Portal 1 and 2 are, I am really missing the main Half Life series here.
You see how P-Body and Atlas are hugging on that little picture right there? That's totally what I'd do to Valve it were possible. Such an awesome company. Nothing comes free nowadays!!
This is what DLC should be. Free or couple of dollars. Instead of the milk we are feed with stuff left out of games at launch time. All hail Valve.
Cdprojeckt, and Valve rock lately :). Let's go back to the era of non-milking of the customers with free DLC paradise. (Bouh Activision !)
That's tomorrow! YES! I LOVE the Portal games!Thank you Valve! By the way,why is anyone surprised that this DLC is late? It's kind of a Valve thing to do it that way. But you know it's going to be a quality product.
@adtn64 Hard to say about CDProjekt Red though. They've only PC games and there are soooo many PC games with free updates (or DLC, whatever you wish to call them).
@John_Read Valve only developer who releases free DLC other publisher and developers have kill the word "DLC" CD Projekt REDtoo
Ugh I just uninstalled this after three fun-filled playthroughs. Guess I'm gonna just have to promote it to perma-installed. I less than three Portal 2.
@Philly1UPer Too bad Cold Stream is a terrible map.Infinite zombies, the radio still doesn't work, bots still won't pick up weapons ont he second part and so on.It took them MONTHS to even fix really small things. They refuse to address the bigger things. What is even worse is that it went on beta for months.Ya....pathetic. Oh and btw most of L4D2's problems still have not been fixed since its released.I love valve and all but they did a crappy job on L4D2.At least bug and glitch wise.
Me:Count to three, Valve Valve: One...Two...Free!! Me:...Dmn...Wait Did you say three!! Valve:No,I said the word Free as in no cost. Me: ---___---
Valve is the best at giving DLC for free! And because of that I will go to steam first to buy games they offer!
@LpcWarrior L4D2 has had a fair bit of DLC since its release. I'm just glad that Valve is amazing enough to add on for free!
Valve is like a dad that never comes around, but when he does he brings gifts so you forget about how absent he's been. Thank you for free, but I hate the timelines they set. Still waiting on L4D2 DLC.
@Blackheart_RE: Why the heck did you uninstall it in the first place? /:( Anyways, awesome to hear that the DLC is finally coming out! :D
EA, Activision, this is the reason why people stay loyal to this company for so many years, but doubt you guys will ever get it.
Free DLC for a fun game makes me wet my pants. Having said that I wish I was reading this at home and not at work.
Still haven't finished the original coop mission. I'm playing LAN coop with the wife and I guess we'd better finish before this DLC comes out! Great game!
oh i wish it will be out in pal regions too - i hate when i miss out on added content - especially when its free
