Free Halo 4 armor for those who watch debates on Xbox Live

The comments on this article just confirm my belief that gamers will whine and b*tch about absolutely anything and everything.

I don't see what people aren't getting. The point isn't to make you watch the debate if you weren't going to, it is incentive to watch it on Xbox as opposed to cable or online. The more people that watch on Xbox, the more money they get, so they throw this in to help convince people.

Theres so many more important debates to watch than the presidential debates though.

WTF is microsoft doing? They should fix their operating systems first, then worry about giving out free virtual armor.

The sad thing is if one candidate was giving us free exclusive DLC I'd vote for them, as once they're in they don't listen to what we want anyway, they're all the same these days. Obama proved that with everything he's continued to support from the Bush admin. and all the important stuff that he's ignored. It seems Romney should be given a chance but really why should we think he'll do any better? If I had it our way we'd get rid of all these clowns and have Ron Paul as the U.S president...and EVERYONE knows it. Cheers.

American gamers will just log in for the first 3 candidates and then switch off their 360's when the 4th comes on to unlock this. Simple as that, so my question is why do they even bother with this crap? Statistically all it shows is people like freebies and will tune in for a petty incentive, and why do they believe their console needs to cover-free to air T.V now and do everything except for cater to the people that buy them to actually play VIDEO-GAMES and get away from what's being aired on all the awful T.V stations of this world?

If I was going to watch the debates tonight - I would simply turn on my TV, or DVR then (which is moore likely) - as opposed to turning on my 360, signing-in, and then watching a weakened video feed.

US elections are so weird to the rest of the world. Every 4 years they make you choose between 2 guys...  And then they act like a new king is born:P   Chaaaaange!! LOL

What does Halo 4 have to do with the presidential debate?  This has "bribe" written all over it.  It surprises me, though.  Are you so desperate, Microsoft?  ...May as well shout from a roof top with hands clutched together and puppy-dog eyes, "PLEASE, use our console!".  It just doesn't make sense.  This actually turns me away from watching it on the 360.

Kind of a sad way to market the media uses of the Xbox most users don't care much about.

Kind of funny also since a lot of the people that would care about the armor, care very little about the elections.

This is weird, just weird. Good thing I don't care about either politics or avatar skins.

May as well.If we're not careful, the wrong elected official will try and turn on games.

We may as well get involved and make our voices heard. This, of course, is just a small first step. 

They could offer to give me the whole damn game and i still wouldn't watch presidential debates.

Umm. No thanks because that will be an hour that I will never get back in my life. Heck you could even work minimum wage for that extra hour and buy yourself more avatar clothes than you need. Every scenario says that  you are the loser if you actually waste your time watching those debates just for Halo 4 armor.

So we get to watch two of the biggest retards in the U.S. throw mud at each other and dodge important questions, and then get rewarded with some digital clothes? Yeah, no thanks.

Besides, most people will just turn on the debate and leave it running while they do something more productive.

wow~ I actually really like the idea of trying to get gamers politically involved.  After all, presidential candidates have been advertising in games already!

Good for them but... Unless it requires interaction during the debate I'm assuming many people would do like I would and press play on the XBox, then input on my TV and watch something else...

I wonder why Microsoft spent zillion for marketing rather than developing good games that they're lacking.

I guess they're doing this as a way to make it seem like they really want people to vote rather than go out and get Halo 4 and play it all day... I'll be doing the latter.  Still, I suppose if you were to watch the debates at least now you get a bonus for doing so.

And also, if you're going to incentivize people, do it with something other than dress up clothes for your digital doll, for fvck's sake. I would be embarrassed to admit that I watched a political debate just so I could get free duds for my fake doll.

Getting citizens involved in our politics is a good thing. 

I'll just turn on my 360 turn on the debate and watch tv in another room.

anybody else feel like this is an effort to make xbox seem like a viable platform for political advertisement, and thus be able to charge campaigns for ad space?
