If you fanboys are STIL ranting about Kratos, which is VERY stupid and immature, I say this: Not SONY's fault they rather have franchises that appeal to all genre's unlike Microsoft that focuses on Shooters and lousy kinect games. When you'll have a character as badass as Kratos, THEN rant, although that will never happen, nothing beats Kratos. Until then, You can at best wish for Phoenix or Chief to try to shove themselves in. :)

I'm glad Freddy is in here, one step closer to getting Jason as a playable character on a side note if Freddy was only using 1 glove you'd have people upset about how the glove switches hands when he gets on different sides of his opponent, like Vega with his claw in Street Fighter.

How come PS3 gamers get an extra exclusive character and 360 gamers don't? That's BS!

But Kung Lao dies in Story Mode before Motaro.. Why is he in the Arcade portion of the game and not Motaro then?

If you don't like the new character, DON'T BUY HIM! Personally, as an older gamer, I like that Freddy Krueger is in this game. The person asking for Kratos must have a XBOX 360. The person asking for Motaro must didn't play the story mode. Spoiler...he is the first to die in story mode. The fatality on Scorpion is actually a part in his movie (the original Freddy, I think N.O.E.S 2). Two gloves threw me off! Forget the story...All these DLC characters were added for fighting purposes (On or offline)

When I heard the last character was gonna be Freddy I thought it might be pretty cool. Then I looked it up and thought WTH this is retarded! #1)They decided to use this sh!tty awful looking Freddy from the remake. 2)Why in the he!! does he have two frickin gloves...FAIL!!!! 3)The fatality at the end with Scorpion burning to death...even more retarded!!!! If youre gonna be ripping us off by charging us $5 per character atleast make them Fn right and somebody that makes sense!!!!

I really don't think that Freddy Kreuger fits in MK at all. But I will still download him and play as him, because he looks fun from the game play. It could be worse! He could be doing butterfly twists and cartwheels as special moves or throwing vomit balls at his opponents. And he could be delivering one liners after every combo or special move. So, there it is. It could be worse! Just one question!!! Why does he two razor gloves?

Um ok, not really who I had hoped would be the last DLC fighter and will not main him for sure. I take it Warner Bros has the rights to the movies. I cant take this guy seriously as a fighter just as I could not take Kratos. The 2 odd balls in the game IMO and a waste of time. I would have thought the dude at the end of story mode talking to Quan Chi would have been the 4th fighter.

Robert's Freddy in my opinion visually, wouldn't be taken as seriously as a fighter as Jackie Earle Haley's Freddy. well, now that Australia has finally agreed on implementing an R18+ classification, maybe in a couple of months i can finally get Mortal Kombat, get Freddy and master him. l'd probably tag him up with Skarlet.

@DarkPhoneix85 Well my point is the new Freddy fits right in this new MK game game cause its a very dark game, the old Freddy wouldnt feel right cause the old Freddy is just to comical for this game.

I personally think both Robert Englund's Freddy and Jackie Earle Haley's Freddy are awesome. They both take a different aspect of Freddy's character and personality and focus that for their interpretations. Robert had a more comical sadistic appeal, whereas Jackie focused on pure viciousness and cold calculation. Both versions rock. as for the whole two gloves and how he fits into the MK universe business, Firstly, i like the two gloves look. he should have had two gloves in the movies in my opinion! makes him triple menacing. secondly, reading off the mortal kombat website, apparently Freddy is pissed that Shao Khan is stealing human souls, souls Freddy feels he has the right to torture, not Shao Khan! so he challenges him, loses, is made mortal. So then essentially he must face in Mortal Kombat to regain his power to return to the dream world. sounds like a plausible plot to me.

And who cares about the two gloves, and makes since they have the new Freddy anyway cause this game has a new look to it with new costumes on the MK guys, they made the classic costumes a download maybe they will do the old Freddy maybe.

I like the new Freddy better then the old, the new is more of a crazy scary like the Joker Heath Ledger did compared to Jacks Joker which was more comical, Englands Freddy would be to stupid now in 2011 it was great back in the early 80s. @ babyboy9680 How does one make since? Anyway, considering that this Mortal Kombat pretty much changes EVERYTHING about the story of the series, putting in a DLC character that has no connection to MK isn't that big of a stretch. Kratos is in the PS3 version for Christ's sake. Also, it's not like they are doing updates to the story mode. Plus, each character still has their own, separate ending like the previous three DLC characters. If story is being the gauge for relevance here, technically speaking Kenshi, Rain, and Skarlet make no SENSE, since they were added in as characters but not players in the story mode (which is now the new, official canon for the series). I don't think anyone put any ideals into Boon's head (which is impossible to begin with). It may have been something he always wanted to do in the first place.

WoW....this is pretty cool! they should get all the scary movie characters, such as: Jason, Michael(Holloween), leatherface, chuckie (LoL), etc... that would be so AWESOME!!!! xD

I was never a fan of the series, and don't have any of the games...but this is very different and pretty cool

@ar6n1c actually all the dlc characters currently only have one costume.

@ ar5n1c I highly don't that Robert Englund is the secondary costume + it should be the other way around First costume Robert Englund,second costume Jackie Earle Haley. If I remember right nether of them have two gloves.

Guys remember, every character gets an secondary costume so maybe that's gonna be the Robert Englund version.

This is great!!!! Now with them dipping into WB movies and intellectual property I cant't wait for them to come out with a version with the Animaniacs, Thundercats, The Mask, Harold & Kumar, and let's not forget that they own the Tyra Banks show!!!!

@mister_scowl i think it's more a case of disappointment, because we all knew a 4th mystery dlc character was coming out, but most of us expected and wanted another MK character. i'm disappointed, but i'm such a fiend for this game that i'm still gonna download him.

Dammit I was hoping for it to be either Motaro or Tremor. Another opportunity wasted.

The only issue I have with this it's that they used that crappy Freddy from the remake, and not Englund. MK is not the kind of game that takes itself seriously in arcade mode (take any ending for example), and the character is optional, so it's not like they're shoving it down your throat. All in all, any new addition to the roster is good. (But please give me MK3 Sub Zero)

I was rooting for Centaur Motaro to make the game, but Freddy is a good "out of the box" choice.

This is so dumb. But I can see why NRS/WB did it: they know that Freddy will appeal to the casual players who make up a large (greater) portion of the demographic. They will undoubtedly make a HUGE profit out of him, maybe the highest out of all the DLC characters. Personally, I would have preferred an original MK fighter who is truly part of the MKverse and tournament viable rather than this p.o.s guest character who, sadly, will be allowed at future tournaments. I just cannot take this pedophile seriously.

This sucks for some people.... But being a Horror movie fan, I think this is awesome :D I would've prefered Jason... Oh well, this is still the best DLC character so far!
