Fox culturing Spore movie

I really like the games but this is just going too far.

I doubt it will work. Gaming movies have been attempted before and most of them were Epic Fails. The only video game Movie that was any good was tomb raider. Although if they made a Halo film or Advance wars, Then I would be interested

They should make a Republic Commando movie not only was it an awesome game there is enough back story to make a good movie

turning a game into a movie = fail turning a movie into a game = fail i dont want to be watching the same thing i play. i dont want to be playing the same thing i watch. the ONLY ONE i would be interested is an uncharted movie........NOTHING ELSE.

To all gamers out here I just want to say that I notice something.... Isn't it strange that it seems that many (if not most) potentially good writers with good imaginations works on videogames than movies these days? Movie storylines these days are total rubbish compared to videogames. Writers get back to Hollywood!! Save the movies!!

I must admit, though, I'd go see Mass Effect, if it was done properly.

This is a bad idea, through and through. The Sims would also be a horrible movie idea. I'd like to meet the fool(s) who thought to himself, "Hey, these would be great ideas for movies, because they did reasonably well as video games. Why not a full-feature length film ?"

The reason videogames are unique is because they're videogames. If every game ever released was turned into a movie, everyone would want to watch them instead of play them, and thus there would be entirely no point. Hitman sucked, Doom sucked, All 3 Resident Evils sucked. Is there a connection here (that's what she said) or is it just me?

I hate when hollywood takes games and turns them into movies they are just horrible they can't compress 5-10 hours of gameplay into an hour and a half or 2 hour movie and expect the fans to enjoy it..its just not possible

a movie made with spore elements such as weird animals and aliens and vehicles would be good but a movie about spore will be terrible.

Here's a small preview of how I think the movie is going to be. BOLOPBOLOP cell just evolved into civilization stage!!!!! Oh, look he grew legs. His face stays the same so that you would recognize the characters! My spaceship is cooler than your spaceship...it has wings. MINE HAS ROCKETS!!!!! Then random aliens defeat the grog and find out the ultimate meaning to life is 42. If it doesn't play out like that, THEN IT ISN'T SPORE!!!! So either way I think this concept is ridicilous and don't even get me started on sims. Sims is made to simulate life with infinite possibilities, so when you think about it...any non-action movie is like a preview of the sims movie (Why call it sims then?). I mean really!!!

I could understand how something like Uncharted or inFamous would work as a movie, but Spore? Spore?!

I'd prefer Disney Pixar to be at the helm really, since they can make a masterpiece out of any movie premise 8).

@t0taldj: Actully Viva Pinata started as a TV show, so a movie would be based on that and not the games. Also, did anyone even play Spore? i didn't so there would be no way i would watch a movie about it.

"I'm always looking for unique worlds to go to in animation,".....If he claims this then why not make a movie off of say something quirky to spore like Ratchet and Clank or Conquer that fuzzy looking squirrel, lol, either of those ought to be spectacular provided they have a nice story to back them up as well as tight action. I think Ratchet and Clank can more make for a better film though since it has the comedy and action and out of this world weapons and places that the developer Insomniac normally showcase to it's audience in a family friendly like way!! :)

too many games are being turned into movies, i thought a video game was supposed to replicate a movies good story while allowing you to control the character(s). if all these games become movies, then what is the point buying the game?

really? ya know what i don't get here, alright, there TONS of games with amazing story lines, and now, shadow of the collosus ,and spore (they were both great games) are getting movies made out of them, when Shadow of the collosus had a beautiful story, it's only real part that made it a story was the beginning and end, and lets face it, the story line in general wasn't all that original (SAVE YOUR BELOVED!), though it had some beautiful side takes on the story... and well theres spore, do i even have to explain why that SHOULDN'T BE A MOVIE! considering theres no real storyline except about the creation and end of a civilization, which in any other cercumstances (as in it not being centered around the game spore) would have made a interesting storyline. C'mon movie people! pick something with a actuall good storyline, like umm... fable, Assassin's creed, possibly even Mass Effect BUT NOT SPORE!
