FlatOut 2 passes 500K sold
Bugbear's multiplatform crash-happy racer smashes sales milestone in three months; Xbox 360 FlatOut dated for 2007.
Ejecting drivers out of speeding cars into bowling pins and dartboards is proving to be pretty popular among gamers. Bugbear Entertainment today announced that its "destruction racer" FlatOut 2 has sold 500,000 copies worldwide.
The game was released in North America in August 2006 for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PC and was the sequel to 2005's FlatOut. To date, more than 1.5 million games from the FlatOut franchise have been sold, according to Bugbear.
The Finland-based developer also narrowed down the date of its next FlatOut title. FlatOut Ultimate Carnage (previously known as FlatOut: Total Carnage) for the Xbox 360 is currently in development and expected to be released sometime this year.
FlatOut 2 is rated T for Teen. For more information on the game, read GameSpot's review.
