I'll give it a shot, but hey okASSer why r u hating on racing games but you give credit to one the worst racing games ever "Full Auto" u no talent clown.
Bugbear's multiplatform crash-happy racer smashes sales milestone in three months; Xbox 360 FlatOut dated for 2007.
Ejecting drivers out of speeding cars into bowling pins and dartboards is proving to be pretty popular among gamers. Bugbear Entertainment today announced that its "destruction racer" FlatOut 2 has sold 500,000 copies worldwide.
The game was released in North America in August 2006 for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PC and was the sequel to 2005's FlatOut. To date, more than 1.5 million games from the FlatOut franchise have been sold, according to Bugbear.
The Finland-based developer also narrowed down the date of its next FlatOut title. FlatOut Ultimate Carnage (previously known as FlatOut: Total Carnage) for the Xbox 360 is currently in development and expected to be released sometime this year.
FlatOut 2 is rated T for Teen. For more information on the game, read GameSpot's review.
I picked up a copy of this game and still haven't played it yet. I'm glad to see it has sold as many copies as it did.
That's nothing,Gears of War sold more than 2 million in it's first month, don't even get me started on Halo 2 mania...Racing games are stupid, just like soccer games. If there was any racecar game I'll give some credit to,it's Full Auto(and maybe Need for Speed Most Wanted).
they really need to work on the underutilized crashes in the racing mode. i love the effects but crashes are totally underutilized in races and there is no sense of speed. other than that the game is great.
Even with as long as it took, I'm still surprised this average title reached this mark. . . An. . .exuberant friend of mine received this for his birthday, and even with his. . ."special" taste in games (I've never seen a man try so hard to enjoy that recent Jaws title) he found Flat-Out 2 lacking. Oh, he loved the new minigames, vehicles, and destruction derby tweaks, but still feels miffed by the game's lack of a robust offline multiplayer offering. While I certainly believe that a painful oversight on the part of the developer, I do see a silver lining: There's an excuse for me not to play it with him. ("Nah, you two seem to be having fun. I'll just sit this one out. . .What's that?. . .Nah, corpse bowling isn't really my thing.")
I love Flatout 2 for PC had it ever since the week it came out. But I can't help but wonder, could this be because of Flatout 2's very recent addition to the Steam library?
500K sold worldwide, that seems a little small for world wide figures especially when it is on the ps2 as well as the pc and xbox
Ultimate carnage... who can ever get enough of that? I live for that stuff. I have the first one and like it. I should get the second one myself. I love driving like an insane madman and do it whenever possible, like on my way to work, etc. Sometimes I am speeding along and think to myself, wow, this is just like NFS... except if I hit something now at 70 I am going to die. This adds considerably to the tension I might add as does the no saves...
Dantes_Monkey "shame the game isn't completely up to scratch then" The jerks never disappoint. Whenever there's an article about any game, rest assured there'll be one or two a**es who post just to piss everyone else off.

Flatout 2 sold over 500K, that is what this article is about. Ultimate Carnage is NOT YET RELEASED! Of course you've never heard of it yet.. Steam now carries this title as well for the PC.
yeah, played the first one and i thought about getting it, but instead i spent the money towards my xbox 360 fund.
For starters, you dont see Ten pin bowling, Darts, Soccer or Baseball in Burnout. If you havnt played Flatout, play it,........ when a car goes flying past you, hits a tyre-fence, and tyres roll across the road causing you to swerve, leaving you knocking into a post that brings down mass's of scaffolding, and takes-out numerous opponents that where only yards behind....... This isnt burnout, It's a totally differant concept, and a totally differant game. However i will state, I Love Burnout, I've played and completed all Burnout titles, on xbox & 360. My point is, I'm a gamer, I Love games And i'm happy to see innovitive titles due for release
I was surprised when i bought it for the PC for twenty bucks at how great a racing game it really is. I can easily rank it with the burnout series.
FlatOut Ultimate Carnage, never heard of it, but it must be good if it sold 500k, maybe i'll check it out, see what its about and what not.
burnout 2 was a sleeper, and i was thrilled to own it especially when later it won a few awards. Then there was Flatout 1 which came a lil after Burnout Takedown. Now that the history lesson is over...Flatout sux. Flatout 2 selling so well is only b/c there is no new Burnout, yea call me a hater
The game is great "Bugbear" is a great car racing game developer ... the fact is that their game inspired the guys from sony with their "Motorstorm" ... & another good thing about the FlatOut games is that they could run at max graphics on even some not so powerfull systems & lets not forget that there aren't much car racing games that can offer you distructible enviroment & cars ... feelling like in this game . Keep in mind that "the man jumping out a windshield" ideea camed 1st from "Bugbear" . I can't imagine how there are some ppl who don't like this game ... but i recomend that they keep their bad oppinion for themselves because the game is great ... in fact i'm playing it right now with a steering wheel(game device)... i hope that the next FlatOut will be for both PC & Xbox360 ... especially for PC ( PC gamer :D ) ! Just can't w8 !
Most of them are probably PC gamers. There is no Burnout or Full Auto for the PC, this is all we have.
This game is so bad though! I assume something as terrible as Full Auto would of sold well too: teh awesome box art with teh car and teh gun is soo cooool man!!!
