Kids need to know where to complain, ME2 dlc's are some of the best top quality pieces of work out in the market and for this price it's a steal.
Arrival add-on arrives March 29 on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, features Lance Henriksen reprising role of Admiral Hackett.
BioWare is finally closing the book on Mass Effect 2. The developer today announced Mass Effect: Arrival, the final downloadable add-on for the sci-fi role-playing sequel.
Set for release March 29, Arrival sees Commander Shepard investigating clues to an impending Reaper invasion on the edge of the galaxy. The downloadable content will also see the return of actor Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Stone Cold) lending his voice to Admiral Hackett. The add-on will sell for $7 (560 Microsoft points).
While Mass Effect 2: Arrival is expected to bridge the gap between the second and third installments of the game, it's not entirely clear what Mass Effect 3 has in store for players when it is launched later this year. To date, BioWare has released little more than a teaser trailer and a description on the Electronic Arts storefront's product page that reads, "Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth."

This addon should be called Mass Effect 2: Our last chance to milk money from gamers til Mass Effect 3
I'll admit that it is good to be able to spend $10 or less and get to play some good content, but it has been so long since I've played ME2 I don't know if I will still like it as much. Plus, I'll have to reinstall it and everything.
For serious, where the hell is the GOTY edition of this game? I didn't finish Mass Effect 1 till after 2s DLC started coming out so I decided to wait. Its been over a year now ... what gives?
$7.00 for DLC of this quality is an absolute steal. The quality of content puts silly things like Map-packs to shame. I generally dislike DLC, but I'd pay 3 times what I did for LoTSB. Honestly, the 1 or 2 hours you get out of any of ME2's DLC usually is of higher quality than most full retail games.
@darkknight9174 Weather you like it or not, DLC is here to stay.. I actually like it myself, and for ME2's DLC (or most of it) it was well worth the extra $$.. DLC is a way for companys to flesh out a story, or in this instance fill in a gap from ME2 to ME3.. The time it takes for them to make this DLC is a hefty one, as it takes developers, voice actors, ect.. So why should we NOT have to pay for it? I like DLC because for $7 i could get a whole weekend of fun, instead of spending $65 on other games.. Shoot, Shiara The Shadow Broker and Bringing Down The Sky (ME1) DLC's took me just as long to beat as Dead Space 2 did..
I just hope they do a better job on ME3 then they did for DA2.. Seems to me like DA2 was rushed out the door, and seeing as ME3 is being released fairly quickly after ME2 i just hope it dosn't fall victim to that same trap.
I wish they would've released this with the game, all the DLC together is more than the cost of the full game. Since the article says it is going to bridge the gap between ME2 and ME3 then I'm assuming it is going to have some important information in it. I don't feel that we should have to pay double price to get all the information.
Admiral Hackett was close to my favorite NPC in the original Mass Effect (impressive considering he never showed up on screen) and him not having a speaking part in ME2 made me sad. I hope they don't kill him off in this one. As for Mass Effect 3, I just hope it's not one of those endings where all the efforts you made stopped the bad guys at "half-genocide" like so many other sci fi games lately. I'm kind of sick of playing games where there's still millions of people dying regardless of what you do (Gears, Halo, Killzone are coming to mind).
Yeah i know this is my 3rd comment in a row, but i felt the need to comment on the actual DLC part. I like the idea that its probably about the incoming reapers. I also love that Hackett is coming back. But if he is coming back i wouldve also loved to see shepards conflict between Cerberus and the Alliance finish. Like maybe at the end choosing between staying with Cerberus or going back to the Alliance? Maybe i just said this because seeing Lance Henrickson and Martin Sheen go at it would be ohhhhh so amazing, but who knows, maybe that conflict is part of ME3. Guess we will find out!
@Ifebaggins Dont worry, Bioware said ME3 is having no kind of multiplayer in it, and is alllllll single player :). As for the news about Bioware hiring a MP executive? I believe there IS going to be a ME multiplayer, but it will be a completly different game, maybe after theyre done with ME3. In my hopes anyway! :D
@DarkReign2552 Im sure Bioware is focusing the trailer on earth because people never go to eath in either ME1 or 2. Im sure the finals missions in the game will include going all over the galaxy to defend against the reapers. Earth is just focused on because well, shepard killed one of them. Thats why they singled out only humans in ME2, and why they are attacking Earth first (all speculation of course in regards to what i think for ME3). I agree iwth you though, that i hope they dont send all of the reapers to Earth. Im sure its about rallying the other races to defend their own home planets, and when possible or if they stop attacking their planet, help other races. I just think they focused on earth in the trailer because Shepard is human and it is HIS home planet (well my shepard anyway). Still, im sure i wont be disapointed either way.
Excited as all be, but I worry about the narrowing focus of each passing game. ME1- Save the galaxy from the Saren and the Reapers. ME2 Defend the Human Race from the Collectors and the Reapers. ME3- Rally the Galaxy to prevent the Reapers from destroying... Earth? They seem to be aiming lower with each game. Save everybody, save the Humans only, and now screw the humans in the colonies and other planets and only worry about the humans on Earth itself. I'm pretty sure a fleet as large and powerful as the Reapers don't need to be focusing on a single planet either. The fact that the teaser portrays Earth being consumed by a multitude of Reapers really weakens their stance as all-powerful machines.
Yeeess! More Mass Effect to sate my appetite!!! WOO! So pumped. And I can also get that new Assassin's Creed DLC while I'm at it. Ahh, life is good. And then... Skyrim and Mass Effect come out so (relatively) close to each other. Dang. So awesome. Except, I've a feeling that my straight A's will have a steady drop around that time, though. Other than that? Happy day. :D
maybe im crazy but i got a copy of my mass effect 2 save game on a pendrive and locked in a safe... i suggest you do the same or you will want to suicide if you lose it lol
@Reuwsaat Im worried too but the fact they haven't implemented a multiplayer system to Mass Effect should be encouraging that they will keep the RPG system of Mass Effect as opposed to making it a raw fps. I'm also worried about quality after the disappointment of DA2, but EA seems to give more freedom to Bioware for the ME series rather than DA. Dragon Age 2 feels rushed, I hardly herd about its release until a few weeks prior. Its like EA put a gun to their heads and was like "this was an unexpected hit, we need a sequel NOW and CASH IN PRONTO" Unless EA makes Bioware work with the same designers that did Red Alert 3 and C&C4, I think we can still keep the faith that ME3 will be splendid.
ME 1 and 2 have both been great and I hope I am wrong but I just have a bad feeling about ME3. I hope I am wrong.
haters gonna hate. but ive had mass effect 1 since its release and i couldnt get into it. untill i played ME2 lastweek. now, i cant put ME1 down and dieing to buy ME2, cant wait till this DLC comes out. ....
Although I am not complaining that its only 560 points, I sincerely hope that the little amount doesnt reflect on how short it will be.
I'm hoping those of us who don't have the Terminus Armour (PC) will still be able to get it. Please!
@Ayato_Kamina_1 ....Let me get this right....did you just call Earth, our home and the most unique planet known to man in the known universe a, and I quote, 'poxy blue ball' wtf! lol
@Ayato_Kamina_1 Well it says that you have to rally the civilizations of the galaxy, so... What I get from that is that you will be traveling to different galaxies. So I don't think you have anything to worry about.
If ME3 is based entirely on earth, i'm not gonna be pleased... ME is what it is because of the space travel! i couldn't care if i never see the poxy blue ball in the ME universe.... but bioware haven't steered me wrong yet, so i trust them!
So, since i haven't read anything that confirms this (and i've looked) does anyone know if this is going to actually be set firmly after we've beaten the collector base and we're now off doing whatever? I know it says 'Bridge' so you would think that it would be, but that's not definite.
