Nice to see the two games I play the most, FIFA12 and BF3 in the top ten. Football, errr .."soccer", is the world game, you haters lol. Baseball sucks.
FIFA 12 scores the top spot again
Euro fever helps FIFA 12 reclaim the top spot for a ninth time this year, overhauling Ghost Recon.
EA's FIFA 12 reclaimed the top spot last week after knocking Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier from number one. After three consecutive weeks at the top, Ubisoft’s new shooter dropped down to number two. This was the ninth time in the 38 weeks since its debut that FIFA 12 has placed at the top of the chart. Dropping one place too is Max Payne 3, which placed at number three for the week.
Last week saw two new entries in the top 40: Lollipop Chainsaw and Gravity Rush. Suda 51's latest creation about a chainsaw-wielding cheerleader managed to place the stronger in its first week, debuting at number four. The long-awaited Vita title just missed out on the top 10, with the 29th retail game available for the system debuting at number 11. Activision Blizzard’s Diablo III flew up the chart last week, jumping from number 22 to number six, apparently due to ongoing supply issues to shops being resolved.
Battlefield 3 drops one spot from fourth to fifth for the week. Staying in the top 10, Westeros RPG Game of Thrones finished at seven and Sniper Elite V2 placed at eight. Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, which has been moving up the chart slowly as we get closer to the Olympics in July, placed at nine. For a second week running Dirt Showdown claims the number 10 spot.
This week sees the release of the Civilization V expansion pack Gods & Kings, as well as the latest entry in the Lego series, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, the new Kinect game from the creator of Dark Souls, also hits stores this week.
All-format charts for the week ending 16 June 2012:
1. FIFA 12
2. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
3. Max Payne 3
4. Lollipop Chainsaw
5. Battlefield 3
6. Diablo III
7. Game of Thrones
8. Sniper Elite V2
9. Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games
