FIFA 12 scores six weeks at top of UK chart
EA Sports' football title spends all of January in the number one position on the UK chart, holding off new entry Resident Evil: Revelations.
There was good news for EA in the UK this week, as FIFA 12 held on to the number one spot of the UK all-formats chart for the sixth week in a row. The publisher's first-person shooter Battlefield 3 holds firm at five, but fellow first-person shooter Modern Warfare 3 jumped from four to two. This reshuffle has lead to Skyrim and Just Dance 3 dropping down one place each, with Rage and Rayman Origins both falling out of the top 10 altogether.
Price drops have allowed well-travelled assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze to make a reappearance in the top 10. His latest outing, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, switched positions with Rayman Origins this week, going from 12 to nine.
New to the chart is 3DS exclusive Resident Evil: Revelations, which was released last week to positive reviews. Capcom's latest in the survival horror franchise landed straight in at number six, scoring the seventh highest 3DS launch to date. The only other newcomer to the chart this week was the latest Sims 3 expansion pack, Master Suite Stuff, which jumped straight in at 23.
UK All-Formats Chart for Week Ending 28 January 2012:
1. FIFA 12
2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
3. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
4. Just Dance 3
5. Battlefield 3
6. Resident Evil: Revelations
7. Zumba Fitness
8. Saints Row: The Third
9. Assassin's Creed: Revelations
10. Zumba Fitness 2
