1 Like In this business, that's an epic fail. Inexcusable. I've had countless updates to games through Xbox live and never an issue. Blame the sloppy dev.
Fez patch may break saves

[UPDATE] Developer Polytron advises against downloading patch, is "floored" issue made it to release; now says Microsoft has pulled update altogether.
Downloadable puzzle-platformer Fez's patch released today may corrupt saved games, according to developer Polytron's Twitter post and website. The posts advise against downloading the patch unless players already cannot access the game.
"We're floored that this wasn't found in testing," the website states. The title update was intended to correct several bugs and performance issues that have plagued the game since its launch.
If the patch has already been downloaded, the site advises affected players to delete their system caches as a potential solution. If this does not protect their progress, no other workaround is known.
[UPDATE] Following the publication of this story, Polytron posted an update to its website stating Microsoft had pulled the patch from Xbox Live.
"Microsoft has pulled the patch out of LIVE for now, so at least the problem won’t affect new users," reads a line from the statement. "We're trying to find out what happened and fix it as soon as possible. Like, in less than two months. YAY GAME DEVELOPMENT!

Well I kinda lost my save game already so it doesn't really affect me!.....Radical game though!
How did this get by the testers? QA means testing every aspect of the game, including saves. I haven't purchased the game yet, but now I'll wait do to this issue with the saves. The Summer of Arcade games look interesting though. Finally some new IP's. I wish Microsoft would do stuff like this for the 360 portion and not just the Live Arcade area. We should have new IP's like this every year for the 360. It's not like Microsoft doesn't have the money to make it happen. They should buy 38 Studios only hire 1/2 the staff back and have them make some exclusive games. I honestly think the executive who was running the company screwed up the finances. New games from they would help pay off the debts though.
7 Like This isn't the fault of the QA people. I mean, how were they supposed to know that players would go and start loading saved games. I mean, really, who does that?
2 Like Fez is awesome. Maybe now that Polytron's had some success, they can start their own QA department to doublecheck against Microsoft.

@nurnberg I'm confused as to why you are linking intelligence with awareness. I assume when you say "bright" you mean intelligent, however the ability to recall a reference, be it to an article or something else, has no causal link to intelligence. For example, someone with a low IQ may have a strong grasp of pop culture references. The two are independent clauses and as such do not influence or predict each other. Although your aim is clear in regards to the utilization of your allusions to Fish's statements, I am unclear as to why you felt it necessary to take a wide swipe at every other poster on the site. Hmm...

This game is bad because of how many bugs there are in it at launch, it's like they didn't bother testing this game. Also they want to give the player a seizure for some reason. I mean that seems like the focus of the game, make the screen go as insane as possible so the player gets a seizure.
Also some of the puzzles are just beyond stupid, why is it required of me to have a phone to scan a barcode to finish the game properly? Just why?

@maximumbarmage Microsoft doesn't QA indie games. It's up to the developer to make sure their product meets quality standards.

@Unbeliever11 Very true, and I never said it was; just pointing out that it did go through certification unlike indie titles.
