[UPDATE] Trailer for upcoming game reveals September release date for third entry in Ubisoft's action shooter franchise.
Gamers will get their hands on Far Cry 3 this September, according to a leaked trailer for the action game, due out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
When Far Cry 3 was announced at the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo, it was scheduled to arrive sometime during 2012.
Far Cry 3 will cast players as Jason Brody, a man stranded on a strange tropical island similar to the setting of the first Far Cry. Gamers will head out into this "savage paradise" and "slash, sneak, and shoot" to survive in a world that has "lost all sense of morality."
Far Cry 3 is in development at Ubisoft Montreal, with assistance coming from Ubisoft Shanghai and Massive Entertainment.
[UPDATE] Ubisoft has released the new Far Cry 3 trailer, which shows the game will be out in Europe on Friday, September 7. A North American version will release on September 4.
Wait at the end of the vid. The twist .... his friend is still alive, did he set him up ? @2:40 Cannot wait for for this. Now all I need is for UBI to confirm Map Editor on a separate disc (with loads of content), and I'm sorted.
@ExplosiveChorro no not dubstep, its an machine gun beat, it's what dubstep wishes it was....no seriously its not dubstep
I will be buying this. I loved #2 in a strange way and i just think the style of visuals and gameplay is more immersive than most other FPS games
This story is very different than any other previous far cry. It could go either way. You are playing a civilian without any survival skills, taking on experienced killers and attempting a rescue/escape mission. If it were real, this guy would be dead in a second. Older Far Cry's were at least a tiny bit believable...But again, the need to survive gets larger this way, so it can work with or against the game.
Looking good but i'd rather watch a game play video so we can see what it's really like ;-) Sounds as thouhg they are going back to how the first FC game played, which can only be a good thing as i like many others played both and said one was loads better ;-) First day buy for me too boys.
Sounds loads better than the rubbish that was Far Cry 2. Odd though, Instincts was my favorite instalment in the series....
This one seems to be going back to it's roots, which is a great thing. Far Cry 2 had beautiful graphics! It may have had some of the best visuals I've seen on consoles, but the boring gameplay, and intense bad guys, whom always seem to know right where you're at, ruined it for me. The degrading weapons also sucked! It had potential, but drifted way to far off the blueprint. This one is looking promising!
i couldn't help but notice that the dude with the mohawk sounds a lot like the mexican from the movie Friday After Next.
I was into dubstep before it become popular! just kidding! I haven't heard anyone say something like that in a while. Thought I would attempt to bring it back.
well then, I've no idea why they decided to set up the story like every generic horror movie or decide to add dubstep-esque music. Ignoring that, the gameplay they've shown in the past looks pretty awesome, and the trailer was pretty cool, I just hope it doesn't end up having a plot as thin as a syfy channel original movie. Still, looks better than the last game, definitely looking forward to it.
the "dubstep" isn't dubstep its a different version of a machingun beat... dont really care if it is dubstep (though i am not really liking it in most trailers) or not..... it worked for that part of the trailer in my opinion.... nope thats it :P move on with your days.....oh duh there was one more thing.... cant wait to actually play this game :P
Meh. Far Cry 1 on pc was great, and although a bastardized version, I still liked Instincts a LOT, cause of it's easy to use level editor. Far Cry 2 was horrid, though. I really don't want a Far Cry 3.
@rmartinezdl I see what you mean... Having an infinite spawn enemies would look like I'm playing an Nintendo game if you think about it.
Hey, Ubisoft! Make sure you fix the enemy Al on the bad guys because the enemy Al on Far Cry 2 was terrible. You know the "BERZERK" for the Atari 2600? The robots are a thousand times smarter then the enemy Al in Far Cry 2!
loved the last one. definitely getting this one. most probably on PC after how great the last one looked
@juliano001 I remember when water effect was the standard all games were judged by. I wish I were making that up.
