Fan outcry returns Nuketown 2025 to Black Ops II

Treyarch yanks 24-7 Nuketown 2025 playlist, but brings the map back in Chaos Moshpit after outrage from users.
Treyarch has reinstated the Nuketown 2025 map to a public Call of Duty: Black Ops II playlist after yanking it at the end of the Double XP launch weekend. The map was part of the preorder-exclusive Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 playlist, which was closed last evening.
"Double XP weekend is official [sic] over," Treyarch design director David Vonderhaar tweeted last night." That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. Right? Don't kill the messenger."
Vonderhaar said Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 would return for special events and reminded users that they can always play it with friends in Custom Games. However, fans were not too pleased, and called for the map to be returned to a public playlist. Just hours later, Vonderhaar acquiesced.
The Nuketown 2025 map has returned to a new playlist called "Chaos Moshpit." However, the map is no longer on a 24-7 repeat cycle. It is mixed in with other maps like Carrier, Cargo, Expressed, Hijacked, Slums, and Standoff.

one more thing... yes, they are trying to say "we've heard the pleas of our fans/gamers..." but its a load of bs. yes, they added it to server rotation but they know that's not what people wanted. we wanted 24/7 nuke. and we need dedicated server support. not a crap console port
what about the people that paid extra for the digital deluxe version with the nuketown advertisement as incentive? and what if a lot of people bought preorder or digital deluxe for holiday gifts? little timmy is gonna open up his present super stoked to!!!!!! not play nuketown as advertised??? the map being good or not is a matter of personal opinion, the fact that they advertised the map as a selling point with no notice of a limited time period that it could be played is a lie and false advertising. this is a matter of principle. ive already filed a case with the BBB and a complaint to activision/treyarch. I suggest everyone else to do the same if u feel ripped off or lied to...
1 Like Mass effect's 3 ending... TERA's blood effectsin the European version... this case...Companies seems to be more concerned about fan's reaction nowadays. That is good in general; a lot of companies seem to live completely disconected from the final costumer.
I seriously don't understand why everyone's getting all worked up about Nuketown, the map is absolutely terrible, there's absolutely no strategy needed for that map at all. If the map was more than just 2 or 3 backyards, the main street area and the 3 or 4 bulidings you can go into if you want to try to snipe, I might like it a little better.
Also for the people who keep saying they lied about it being a pre-order bonus, you do realise that only the first batch of games shipped will have the code, pre-ordering it just guarenteed that you'd get it.
mine wont even run most of the time, i get a disc read error, like the previous cod (not black ops) if it does get going my system overheats and i get one game out of it !! 41 quid well spent, my other games work fine, with battlefield occasionally freezing. I fkn hate cod, but this i enjoyed for a day until it fkd up. i now have charging issues with my pads and recognition too. if anyone can help i would be eternally grateful
2 Like @itchyflop Time to buy a new system my friend, seems like when a lot of action is happening at once in close quarters you system is freezing. Why blame the game? you do not need to be smart to realize that there is no way a game can screw your system up, unless your system is already screwed up =)

@MagentaSkyy @Cozm1kaos and iv restored my system loads, wiped the drive clean. Tech boys told me another replacement model for £110. oh thats alright then, when iv just bought far cry 3 to play.
@MagentaSkyy @Cozm1kaos stupid is as stupid does !! my ps3 has acorrupted hard drive meaning it wont even read the disc when on start up, i keep getting error code. When it does work its like Russian roulette seeing how long it ll last before it crash's. No disrespect but when you pay so much for these machines (and i have spent a small fortune on 360's, this is my 3rd ps3) you expect a little longer lifespan not 2 years. And no i do treat then right, open space, never moved, dusted, even air blasted to keep inner dust free, the disc is brand new. So please with your infinte wisdom and obvious talent for this aid my struggle and tell me how to fix this problem, and DONT say simple buy another !!! =)
@Cozm1kaos @itchyflop ....I say BS on that Cozm... My whole hard drive was destroyed by the BF3 DLC's .....and now I don't play it anymore (and threw $150 clams out the window)..... And guess what!! My Xbox hasn't acted up since......but thanks for trying to help itchy.....Itchy if you installed it on your HD , uninstall it and clean cache and then just play it straight from your Game Disc.....oh yeh, and my XBOX was only a few months old when this happened....and there was no way I could keep playing BF3 (as bad as I wanted to) cause it kept doing the same thing over and over.....Hope this helps.....because that other answer to help was just full of s..... I've heard that response so many times, it's like they themselves work for Xbox,trying to get you to buy another system "because it can't be the Game........salute

Not necessarily. My game was freezing every 10 minutes or so the first week, (to the point where I gave up playing). Since the weekend patch it has not frozen a single time.
@Bleak5170 @Cozm1kaos thanks dude !! it was my system that was corrupted, wiped the drive (that hurt) and reset and now i have now no issues and i CAN ENJOY BLACK OPS II cos i do like this one, sorry just wanted to clarify that. and whats trolling im assuming its band wagon hatred for a piece of software ?? keep gaming bro :)
@Cozm1kaos i wasn't blaming the game i was just saying i actually like this cod but i cant play it, happens on the like you said "lot of action" games like bf3 of the cods (not black ops though), need for speed a criterion game is fine, thats brand new and detail hungry, all the other 150 older games are fine. iv been told by tech support its a corrupted system and to wipe it and start again. i said if my system wont recognize the pads (as it doesn't) in double beep mode (though 1 will work wired when i play games, but neither will charge) how can i ?? im gonna try another pad and lead later from someone else. but yeah failing that my blu ray drive is on the way out. 2nd ps3 in 5 years, after 5 xbxox 360's previous, i never had this problem with my ps2 or original xbox(s) linked and i was on them solid for years playing halo 2 with friends every night. thanks for the reply anyway, keep gaming bro :D
This is why the game needs player-controlled servers/games - so people can lookm around for what map and game type they want to play rather than being subject to whatever "playlists" Treyarch sets up.
@LoganDaDestroya If it is player controlled, than most ppl with crappy connection will host games. That my friend we do not want!!
1 Like @Cozm1kaos Indeed, I'm talking more along the lines of server-renting. In either case however, players must be able to see how good their ping is in relation to the server they are joining.
I just want it available on Hard Core. Its always irritating that not all the maps or options are available on Hard Core play styles as they are on Core.
1 Like they gain no money, seeing as its about how cheaply they can run the servers on that crappy product. I've been playing cod since 2007 mw1 golden years of cod. And Im stopping with mw3. It's a cash cow. when you make a product that's about how cheaply you can run the servers. And not about the quality of gaming you lose the point of why you started making the game int he first place.

@187umKILLAH Who cares? would you rather wait 30 minutes to find a game that has NUKETOWN(because lots of ppl did not pre-order) or wait 1 minute because they give it away to all their customers? And what makes us Pre-orders more special than ppl who don't pre-order. Only difference is, we are dumb enough to go into the store ahead of time to reserve a copy, only to believe we will get extras. =)
I can't tell you how fast i would have returned this game if i couldn't play on that map. Nuketown has a strong communnity and i thank them for voicing there distress to treyarc to bring it back. Head quarters and domination.
@StephenSays There are many Maps that are very good, just because not all have camping points, it does not mean you have to hate on them. =)

I don't own this game but taking out the favorite(at least from Black Ops 1) and only letting people play it on 2x weekends and special events seems unfair to me.
@Saintofwar I can't afford a ticket to Haiti or Uganda, so... I guess I'll stick with whatever worries are presented right here in the ol' USA, be they big or small. Thanks for the perspective, anyway. Although, not really.
THIS is fucking stupid. i played 4(?) games in "chaos" moshpit and i didn't see nuketown once. wtf is the point of that when you can just put it in regular map rotation?
2 Like what i dont get is nuke town was supposed to be a game stop pre order exclusive yet every single box that wasnt pre ordered had a code wow talk about bs. nuke town was supposed to be in a future release map pack for black ops 2 for every one else now no one will be able to play on the map at all unless they play mosh pit for a few hours and prey to see the map lol!! way to go activision thats why you guys are the best at being the worst.

Nuketown is just for XP whores. No one even really plays in MoshPit, so it's obvious why they put it in that playlist. Hijacked seems like the new Nuketown except you can fall off the boat. I put some hrs in the game, but there's a few things I dislike because it doesn't make sense. I dont understand why I must lose perk to add an attachment to a gun I already have equipped? If you use 3 wildcards, they won't even let you carry a gun unless you release all lethal and tactical grenades. Basically you're running around naked
1 Like let me say i played in the bonus chaos moshpit all day pretty much not one time did i play in nuketown. so yet again fail, nuketown is not back. you want the gaming community happy just have nuketown only available for those that want to play cause seems their is a high demand cause they woke up the dead pulling that map yesterday. i say when something is not broke just don't even bother trying to fix it LEAVE IT ALONE. the people were happy you had a decent turnout of a demand for it obviously just bring it back like that no other maps joined to it and let us play in piece. "if you do this, we will play." JUST SAY'N.
