[UPDATE] Updated version of 2004 role-playing game and Lost Chapters DLC coming to Xbox 360 this year with SmartGlass integration.
[UPDATE] Following the publication of this story, Microsoft confirmed Fable Anniversary will launch later this year for the Xbox 360.
The game runs on the Unreal 3 Engine and boasts a new lighting system, as well as new systems for cutscenes and facial animations. It also features SmartGlass support and all-new achievements.

Lionhead Studios has teased that it is working on Fable HD for the Xbox 360.
In a short teaser video (below), various tweets are shown directed at Lionhead and asking for a remake of the original role-playing game.
One tweet references "better graphics and sound quality," while another refers to the game as Fable Anniversary. The original Fable launched in 2004 for the Xbox.
Lionhead studio owner Microsoft has a history of rereleasing games with the Anniversary tag, following 2011's Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.
In addition, various tweets reference the game's Lost Chapters expansion, suggesting it will be included with the bundle. Fable antagonist Jack of Blades is also shown in the video.
"For every choice, a consequence," ends the video.
Lionhead just yesterday relaunched the Fable forums. Microsoft's 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo briefing takes place Monday, June 10.

Awesome! My original xbox broke when I was pretty far into the game, I never finished it or played the expansion pack.

3 Like As a heavy PS3 user I can honestly say that Fable is a game that is unique and I cant quite think how it can be compared to, there arnt many games out there like Fable. I spent hours on PC playing the Lost Chapters, its one of the finest games sadly not to brace a SONY/Nintendo console.

7 Like wow, by far the best looking HD remake I've seen...wish all HD remakes went this far. Gonna pick it up for the sake of nostalgia, I could never get into Fable 2 though.
If this isn't on PC they'd be doing a disservice to the series and the community. Also, It seems as if they're trying to assess the popularity of Fable before they consider moving further with it so I hope this does well.

I remember once there being some part within the game that had something to do with him go crazy (I don't know, there were a few guards in that place with the bugs as a child and then bandits as a young adult that attacked you if you came any closer), never went there, so I will go look at it once the HD remake is up and running

4 Like This is actually a great move by Microsoft. I loved the original Fable, finishing it multiple times. I have been down on Microsoft for many valid reasons lately, but this is great news. I will definitely be checking this out.
The first Fable was great, I really enjoyed it, felt like a classic. The rest of the series, not so much. I guess if they can't recreate the magic of the first, remaking it isn't such a bad thing
5 Like I hope they scale back and cap the aging. That was one of the worst things about Fable. Being an 80 year old hero with a 20 year old sister and the rest of the world that didn't age.
Would be great to see them add females too but we know they won't do that lol.
@StaticPenguin yes! get rid of aging althogether! Well, other than the kid to adult, after that, no.
@StaticPenguin Yeah, try playing a mage-like character. I remember using only spells for half an hour real time and I aged about 20 years in-game.
6 Like I think I can honestly say I've never been more excited for an "anniversary" type update as much as I am for this one. Definitely my favorite in the series.

Great there going back to what made the series so amazing! Wish I had an xbox 360 but I still hope that they will go back to making more games like the first.

Fable 1 with Achievements!
Can't see myself going back to this. I enjoyed Fable 1 and 2 but the series failed to live upto it's potential. Fable 3 was particularly disappointing.
I would get another 360 for this game, but Im fine. Im sure I can go over a friends house and play it.
It´s been a while since Im hyped about some gaming related newa, and this ooohhh hell yeah, this just made my week. I love Fable 1 so much I even completed the game 18 times, and can´t wait to visit Albion (the true Albion) one more time.
I just want a worthy sequel after fable 2. That game was amazingly good. Fable 3 was good all the way up until you became the king and then it just instantly died.
I already own the PC version of the original with lost chapters and can run it at max settings, should I bother getting the 360 remake?
@vega13mv if you are a graphic centric gamer, yes i think you should geting this . the graphics improvement are quite good.

10 Like As overhyped as it was, Fable was still a game with great gameplay, environment and music. I'm really happy about this.. and sad, as a PS3 owner :(
They are just trying to squeeze a few bucks out of the consumer before the One launches.
11 Like HD remakes are everywhere, dude. Sony all but cornered the market with the PS3. Then Nintendo made it the key selling point of the 3DS, then the Wii U. MS is just late to the game.

They remake them with new assets new audio and all the wizz you could want Halo CE Anniversary was an amazing update to the classic and it looks as if this will be fables version.
