"Yo dawg, I heard you like Home so i've renovated Home so you can play it in your renovated home" (only true for me i guess. lol)
F2P shooter Bootleggers hitting PS Home - Report
Sony adding new multiplayer title to online space with this fall's major revision; poker game also planned.
A month ago, Sony announced its plans to renovate PlayStation Home this fall, including the addition of more free-to-play games to the online hub. Now, Sony has released details on the first steps in that effort: a shooter called Bootleggers and an as-yet-unnamed poker title.
Sony's director of Home, Jack Buser, gave the first information on Bootleggers to video game website Shacknews. According to the outlet, Bootleggers will be a "rudimentary" multiplayer shooter playable in PlayStation Home's new Action district. Gameplay details for Bootleggers were not offered, but Buser says the title will not follow a "freemium" business model.
In addition to Bootleggers, Buser outed a free-to-play poker game for PlayStation Home. This title--which was not named--will be playable in the Sports district. Details are light on this game, but Shacknews claims a television in the title's background will display highlight reels of sports from the real world.
Unfortunately, Buser did not offer any new information about the launch date for Home's revision. The update is currently scheduled to arrive sometime this fall.
Home launched for the PlayStation 3 in December 2008. And according to Sony's latest figures, more than 23 million users have tried out Home, spending on average 70 minutes in the virtual world per session. Home boasts more than 230 playable games, as well as 9,000 virtual items, 600 community events, and 35 content partners.
