Highly anticipated role-playing game for Nintendo DS delayed across the Atlantic.
Contact, which is being developed by Grasshopper under the direction of Gouichi Suda (SUDA-51)--who is also the mind behind Capcom's Killer7 game--has been pushed back in Europe to February 2007. The game is scheduled to be released this week in the US.
Contact puts the unique properties of the DS to good use, utilising the touch-screen controls for equipment and character customisation. The two screens will be integral throughout the game, with one featuring a constant link to a character called the professor, an affable guy who helps the player figure out what's going on. The game is broken up into islands, and there is also a "Wi-Fi island" for cooperative gameplay in the multiplayer mode.
Oh man! LOL in the vid he was attacked by a fridge!
that's too bad. but it's not like they are pushing it a whole year
your basing an opinion on Edge magazine? lordy. well if i ever need to find sixteen glossy pages of ads with the occasional mention of a lost MegaDrive classic, i know where to go.
UK's crap, everything is soooo delayed... I've gotta move!
Why is it that the game industry seems to enjoy delivering a swift kick to we Europeans? It doesn't really matter though, from the reviews I've read, this game seems distinctly average.
edge gave this game a 7 so meh
yeah, i tip my hat to you Europe for the way you are able to put up with constant shaftage and still continue to buy video game products...*Tips hat*
I really feel sorry for europe releases ... why do they suffer?
Can you say 'import'? Every time they do this I get frustrated even though I can just import it. For once i'd like a game that I can buy in a shop on an international release date.
Aw this sucks! I dont know what to do about this, if every european importet the game so no one bought it when it got here. Would that be a good or a bad thing. Would it make them realise that they cant make us wait for everything. Or would they make us wait more or even stop releasing stuff here?
What? This "Europe can wait" -thing is getting old. Honestly, it just is bad planning and demostration of lazynes.
Thank lord for imports. I ordered mine today :D
why is everything always delayed, why don't they make the release date later to start off with, then we won't get our hopes up for a quick release.
thats a shame :-(
i dont mind anyway got too many ps2 ds games on my xmas list
Yeah this is another set back again for those of us over here who also want this game, amongst the many we won't see until 2007 that the US have already or are getting soon and it probably won't be the last either.
This game is so awesome, I hope it doesn't stumble overseas because of this. -SV
wow a game made by those who created Killer7. But you guys in Europe can always import it so it isnt really that bad.
i feel bad for europe...
People from Europe can still import it, so its not all lost :D
man this is a bad day for EURO gamers!!:( I didnt even know about such game!!!
Poor Europe, they always get the shaft.
*sighs and shakes head* Typical!
if zelda is coming out in january it makes sense cause they don't want to compete against that. that said though they's nothing stopping them realising it earlier.... there isn't really anything coming out for the xmas period which is , nusiness wise, rather bizarre. But then again Yoshi's island 2 is coming out during that period (i believe) so maybe they don't want to compete aginst that. I guess i'll be stuck with tomb raider and star wars lethal alliance until then.... UNLESS THEY GET DELAYED TOO!!!!
yes, we europeans are used to this kinda....¤"#&=¤)":D:D:D
Once again, Europe has been screwed.
poor europe
Luckily I'm getting it imported then =P.
I'll just buy the US version then ^ ^
sorry nightfire i misread your comment, still i dont know wat sony has to do with this article.

Great. Thanks Nintendo, thanks Sony. Screw you both, too. >_> Sheesh. At this rate, maybe I'll just buy an XBox 360.
lol the articles name was misleading.
Thank god I don't live in Europe ;_;
Man somebody doesn't like u EU. I live in the states, i dont have a ds and i have no plans to get one or this game. This is just another example of sony sticking it to Europe though.
Once and again, the Euros getting screwed by someone... Sony and Nintendo. Only MS are taking care of they o_O
I feel BAD for you guys! You keep getting screwed over! X_X
This game looks cool. :)
Dang, Europe is like the disfigured sibling of Japan and America that's kept under lock and key in the mansion basement...
I'm going to import it from play-asia
In the UK we have to wait longer and pay more for games. For example the PS3 was delayed here and i believe a bit more expensive then elsewhere which ensured i'm not getting it for at least another year. Must be seen as shooting themselves in the foot to delay their game for so long to quite a large market.
I don't live in Europe, but I don't blame them having Contact delayed there. I didn't have time to get it (already released here in the States?!) but I will get it though.
I was actually looking forward to this.
First the PS3 is delayed in Europe and now this?
