Single-player sample of empire-building game from Paradox now on GameSpot; select tutorials included in 130MB file.
Gamers set on conquering the world can get a little practice in for free today. Paradox Interactive today released the PC demo for Europa Universalis III, which premiered on GameSpot. The demo lets gamers sample the single-player mode and weighs in at 129.8MB.
The trial features a selection of tutorial chapters and includes all the Western nations from the time period spanning the years 1492 to 1520. Gamers will learn the ins and outs of building an empire through warfare, diplomacy, exploration, and trade.
Europa Universalis III is rated E for Everyone and will retail for $39.99 when it is released on January 23 in North America. For more information, read GameSpot's previous coverage.
Anyone else getting this error? "This game require PixelShader 2.0 or higher to run." I updated to DirectX 9.0 (which I'm pretty sure I have already) and I still get it; I updated the driver on my graphics card, and I still get it. I hope I don't drop $40 for the game and still get those errors.
DeepCoalMiner Its not turn based, its real time, you can pause it whenver you want. Overall I think the demo is quite fun, can play alot of european states and although the demo is onyl a few decades that is still quite lengthy. The graphics would have looked much better if they were more in line with Hearts of Iron 2, the 3D engine is certainly one ugly duckling.
Considering that this company has had issues with using old code, and having bugs so deep in their programming that they just give up... i am not real impressed that they can't even release a demo with working short-cuts.
Never heard of it and I am a PC gammer, but I will check it out if it has good graphics, because I havent been able to play PC games since 360 came out because they dont look good.
You've never heard of it and you don't play PC games WHY POST THEN? Anyway i might try this game out.
