Europa Universalis II goes gold

Strategy First and Paradox Entertainment have announced the completion of their latest real-time strategy game, Europa Universalis II. The game is the sequel to Europa Universalis , which was released in February. The new game features a number of improvements on the original, including new features, new player nations, and a broader period of history.

"Europa Universalis II expands the scope of the first game in a way that we are confident will please the players as well as others interested in games with deep historical content and high playing value," said Gustaf Magnuson, Paradox Entertainment's marketing director.

Players begin the game in 1419 as the ruler of a nation, and they will lead their nation through 400 years of history until the fall of Napoleon. Europa Universalis II was developed by Paradox Entertainment, and it is scheduled for release in mid-November with an approximate retail price of $39.99.
