Euro PS3 games get downloadable content
Ridge Racer 7 and Genji get add-ons starting tomorrow; Resistance and MotorStorm bonuses to follow in coming months.
The first batch of downloadable items for PlayStation 3 games on the European PlayStation Network has been revealed. Ridge Racer 7, along with extra goodies for Genji: Days of the Blade, will be available March 23.
For Genji: Days of the Blade, gamers will be able to download different sets of battle dress for the four characters, including Heishi clan armour, Western-style metal armour, and...school uniforms.
There will be a total of 14 downloadable decal packs for Ridge Racer 7 available over the coming two months, with themes featuring the likes of Katamari Damacy, Pac-Man, and Xevious. There will also be 25 downloadable race events, including one set against a black Angelus in a quad battle event on Seaside Route 765.
Other titles that will get extra content in April or May include MotorStorm and Resistance: Fall of Man. Any gamer playing MotorStorm online will get a Time Trial mode automatically, which will allow players to take any vehicle out on the track to battle for the fastest lap time. Extra tracks, vehicles, and game modes will also be up for grabs sometime during April and May. Resistance: Fall of Man will feature two new playable maps, snowy Westmorland and autumnal Camborn. Multiplayer games will be fully playable on these maps.
Specific prices for the downloadables have not yet been announced, although in a previous statement, Sony said that prices would start from 0.99 euros (approx. 70p).
