Ridge Racer 7 and Genji get add-ons starting tomorrow; Resistance and MotorStorm bonuses to follow in coming months.
The first batch of downloadable items for PlayStation 3 games on the European PlayStation Network has been revealed. Ridge Racer 7, along with extra goodies for Genji: Days of the Blade, will be available March 23.
For Genji: Days of the Blade, gamers will be able to download different sets of battle dress for the four characters, including Heishi clan armour, Western-style metal armour, and...school uniforms.
There will be a total of 14 downloadable decal packs for Ridge Racer 7 available over the coming two months, with themes featuring the likes of Katamari Damacy, Pac-Man, and Xevious. There will also be 25 downloadable race events, including one set against a black Angelus in a quad battle event on Seaside Route 765.
Other titles that will get extra content in April or May include MotorStorm and Resistance: Fall of Man. Any gamer playing MotorStorm online will get a Time Trial mode automatically, which will allow players to take any vehicle out on the track to battle for the fastest lap time. Extra tracks, vehicles, and game modes will also be up for grabs sometime during April and May. Resistance: Fall of Man will feature two new playable maps, snowy Westmorland and autumnal Camborn. Multiplayer games will be fully playable on these maps.
Specific prices for the downloadables have not yet been announced, although in a previous statement, Sony said that prices would start from 0.99 euros (approx. 70p).
I agree, the downloadable add-ons is what keeps me playing my PS3. Multi-player motor storm is awesome, especially on a large screen sony HDTV. I also can't wait for the PS3 to have mortal kombat 2 available in their store. Why are you posting about the wii here squirrel?
I got motorstorm it aint bad the graphics are amazin too. PS3 is starting to impress me even tho ive only had it for a day =-) I also cant wait for 'home' its gonna be sick.
1 hour 51 minutes to go, and us europe-ers can buy ps3. Apparently, 51% of iriah households have ps2. And... shops will open at 12:00 JUST to sell it, and they will even pay major for night-shift staff tonite woot
How long ago Pablo620? I must have missed that bit of bad news then, thought Sony Online would be totally free, my bad. Have FuN, play a Game. ^-^
wait, this stuff is comein out for us ps3's to right?, its stupid enuff not bein able to get content for games cuz its exclusive to a different console, but havein stuff that you can get in onl one region for a console is even worse
I guess Sony can't afford to give everything on the PSN for free...I wonder what the final pricing will be and if it will establish a "standard."
As long as the microtransactions stay MICRO, it wont bother me none. I know Xbox Live has been doing this for quite some time now, succussfullly might I add, I still think we shouldnt have to pay that much for extra content.
more tracks!! yes fianally now everyone (kinda including me) can stop saying theres not enough tracks. aslo i hope KD comes to US PS3's.angel servel game devs have to make cheap money somehow. in my opinion some microtransactions extend the game expericne
Supposedly the time trial will allow you to DL the top hundred laps for each track so that you can race the players ghosts. We will see.
since when was sony not into microtransactions. Sony said long ago the online will be free and micro transactions will be the bread and butter of the online service
'Specific prices for the downloadables have not yet been announced, although in a previous statement, Sony said that prices would start from 0.99 euros (approx 70p). ' So it isn't free? Thought Sony wasn't into micro-transactions.(Sarcasm) Paying for a full game is no problem at all, but random stuff like decals and uniforms now also command a price? And what is with the extra race events, shouldn't they be like in the game already? If they aren't free, We are getting ripped off. We waited months extra, but we still have to pay for extra content for launch games? I know we live in a free market world and this micropayment stuff is getting more mainstream, but there should be some form of guidance. According to a lot of people 5 bucks is to expensive for a VC game or a XBLA game, but a buck for an uniform is okay? And then Home arrives and you can buy your super duper designer chair with true live Killzone fabric AND logo for just 2 bucks! Who in his/her right gamer mind would buy that? Where would it end? Maybe sometime soon you can buy cheats like God mode or one-button-will-destroy-all-enemies cheat for 3 bucks or even worse buy the ending of a game for 4 bucks! This stuff is beyond me, I just want to play FuN games. And yes I do know that Devs make a profit from these micro-transactions and THAT money could make the next FuN game. But it degenerates the game business to a wannabee business AND that is bad for us gamers in the long run. Ooh well, maybe I'm reading too much in it.......... Have FuN, play a Game. ^-^
Forget the aussies..youll see a great ps3 launch in europe..we've waited patiently now it's finally arrived!!!!
