ESGN announces Sydney tournament for July
ESGN has announced a winter tournament in Sydney later this year.
Aussie eSports organiser ESGN has announced that it will be hosting its winter tournament at UNSW's Roundhouse in Sydney.
Scheduled to go for two days, across July 14 and 15, ESGN Live: Winter 2012 will see competitors go head-to-head in games like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, FIFA Soccer 12, and League of Legends. In total, there will be five separate live streams running on Twitch.TV, with one dedicated to League of Legends, three set aside for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on PS3, 360, and PC, and two channels for FIFA that will span the PS3 and 360 tournaments.
Unlike regular eSports competitions, where each game is played on just a single platform, ESGN will be hosting multiplatform tournaments; for example, there are three Call of Duty: Modern Warfare tournaments for each of the respective platforms it was released on.
Tournament aside, ESGN Live: Winter 2012 is also set to play host to a variety of social events. Activities include game swapping, spectator access to watch the tournaments, exhibition stalls, and casual gaming stations.
