North Carolina development studio files mark and logo for new project.
Yesterday, Microsoft made the $30 Gears of War Triple Pack official. The primer pack of sorts includes the original Gears of War, its sequel, and a heap of downloadable content for gamers looking to get up to speed prior to Gears of War 3's fall 2011 debut. However, Epic Games might have another project in the works, as well.
Epic Games recently trademarked "Gears of War: Exile," as well as an accompanying logo that uses the familiar cog symbol (first dug up by Siliconera). It is unclear as to what the trademark specifically applies to, but it was filed under the good and services description for T-shirts, hint books, and video game software. As of press time, Microsoft has not responded to GameSpot's request for comment or clarification on the matter.
In late November, Epic Games' design director Cliff Bleszinski promised a Gears of War-related announcement for the 2010 Video Game Awards. On the day of the show, the announcement was pushed to 2011. The project was rumored to be a Kinect-enabled Gears of War title, but no confirmation has arrived from Epic Games or Microsoft on the matter.
i have kinect and i hv to tell u its real fun to play it even kid games also but in this hhahhahahahah get ready for kicking some alien but :D
I dont care as long as it stays gears of war ill buy it ply it and dream about it.lmao gears #1 ever f u haters, just because u cant make a kill in a 3rd person shotter does not means the game sucks.
It's got to be a precuol what to you think? Great story if u ask me a war between country's for that juice and Cole when he was a trash ball player. Dom with Maria and how they got separated. Marcus with his team and when he tries to save his dad Adam Fenix and how he goes to jail. Good story if u ask me.
Sounds like a comic book or some other form of merchandising. The Gears sequels have all been numeral.
useless gamespot is it just now that they reporting this the only bad thing about this is that i may have to get a kinect, i love the kinect i think its great but i just was'nt planing on getting it any time soon unless there is a kinect game with the cog symbol on the cover
you guys are thinking pretty small it could be something along the lines as a commutity site like bungie.net if so i would probably play gears for life:)
Crap, Please don't make a kinect-enabled gears of war I am not interested in purchasing a kinect, and if they do make a kinect enabled gears of war I am gonna have to purchase it, but let's face it, it would look pretty ridiculous, holding an air gun, just like that kinect driving game, where you pretend to hold a driving wheel, I mean, you can purchase the actual xbox 360 driving wheel, I just think Kinect sucks, but a GoW prequel woulb be awesome, Remember where it al began GoW version.
Maybe be really sik, may be crap. Depends on who makes it, how they make it, and whether it will be controller-less only?
Well if MS wants the kinect to really be successful theyve got try putting some hardcore gaming on it. This is likely theyre attempt. Wonder what a fps will be like on it.
Could a prequel (when Marcus is arrested for crimes he did not comitted, his father's story of the war, etc.). No dlc, pure disc!
Exile will be Carmine's story; that way they can milk DLC by going through the Carmine brothers' stories. Just saying...
It says it was filed under the good and services description for T - shirts and hint books... That sounds lame. But It might not be that? I hope it's either a Prequel or a movie or something along the lines of that. But I don't want it to be a Kinect game!
Most likely it's Gears of War 1+2 on PS3 like Ninja Gaiden was to Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and that will stink cause the only exclusive left is HALO
Barighm I'm betting it's a prequel explaining how Marcus ended up in prison. Well we all know that he ended up there because he went to save his father instead of completing an assignment. would be interesting to see what was happening though
@ViktorMax31 I think you have the wrong developer..... Killer Instinct was developed by Rareware and published by Nintendo on SNES and N64.
If they put Gears of war Exile on Kinect. Then it bombs it won't hurt the regular Gears of war series. It is good for Epic to try to see if people will buy into a Kinect gears of war. I don't think that it will be successful. But good on Epic for trying to find out. Gear of War on Kinect = fail
Gears of War (Kinect) huh. Hhhmm.. gotta see how this plays out. We need more NEW IP's Microsoft. We love Gears, but either bring back some old favorites like MechAssault. Crimson Skies, PDZero2, Killer Instinct 3 and Conkers or give us some new IP's.
"The project was rumored to be a Kinect-enabled Gears of War title" If it works out good controls, i'm in : D
@eal-zubieri genius the 3rd game will be released this year, and the the God of war series is similar to the Gears of war series in terms of game lunching. main story( trilogy) secondary games (GOW: Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus, GEOW: probably Exile). The only reason fan boys are rude to each Other is because they have to assure themselves that they have the right console, but there is no right or wrong here.
Exile made me think about the overall plot of the series. Wouldn't it be refreshing if humanity would lose for a change? Just like in GoW3, Kratos made a point: After him there should be noone. It'd be cool if humanity would be force to exile from Sierra, and charter new Planets.
MS don't have anything in 2011, so they will start to milking GEOW series? lol THE THIRD THE GAME IS NOT EVEN OUT TILL NEXT YEAR!!!
i would love to see the trilogy gets ported to PC at some point since my 360 got RROD while ago and i have to intention in buying another one since my Gaming Rig and PS3 keeps me busy for all the time.
@kerrman agreed either that or possibly a facebook game like what Ubisoft did with Assassin's Creed.
