Eidos reveals more Get On Da Mic tracks
10 "new-school" tracks added to the rappin' karaoke house party.
Eidos today announced the names of 10 more tracks that will appear in its hip-hop karaoke title Get On Da Mic. The 10 tracks are from the "new-school" era, ranging from the late '90s to the present day. Earlier this month, Eidos announced 10 "old-school" tracks that will also appear in the game. All in all, players will be able to select from a total of 40 tracks.
MTV News on-air reporter Sway will star as the host of Get On Da Mic, and platinum rap artist Jadakiss will be featured in the game's advertising, packaging, and public relations efforts, although it has not yet been announced which, if any, of Jadakiss' songs will appear in the game itself.
Get On Da Mic is an interactive rapping game that lets players use a microphone controller to rap along with the music by using onscreen lyrics in the style of a karaoke machine. The game will be available for the Sony PlayStation 2 on October 5 and the Microsoft Xbox in early 2005, with a GameCube version arriving sometime thereafter.
Today's announced list of "new-school" tracks is as follows.
1. "Hypnotize" - The Notorious B.I.G.
2. "Beautiful" - Snoop Dogg
3. "The Jump Off" - Lil' Kim featuring Mr Cheeks
4. "Beware of the Boyz" - Panjabi featuring Jay-Z
5. "Get Your Freak On" - Missy Elliot
6. "Hey Mama" - Black Eyed Peas
7. "Jesus Walks" - Kanye West
8. "Get By" - Talib Kweli
9. "Fix Up" - Dizzee Rascal
10. "Crank It Up" - David Banner
