Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes is already dead - FUBAR, if you will. Keep it up EA, another step towards your demise! :D
Battlefield Heroes and Need for Speed World hit 10 million each this month; Battlefield: Play 4Free, Dragon Age: Legends, Battleforge, and Lord of Ultima combine for 5M.
In addition to success with paid games like Star Wars: The Old Republic and Battlefield 3, which have racked up users by the millions, Electronic Arts' free-to-play family is flourishing. Today, the California gaming giant announced that its free-to-play suite of titles have reached a total combined user base of 25 million.
According to EA, its most pronounced free-to-play success came from Battlefield Heroes and Need for Speed World, which each reached 10 million registered players earlier this month. Additionally, the EA free-to-play games Battlefield: Play4Free, Dragon Age: Legends, Battleforge, and Lord of Ultima combined to reach 5 million registered players.
On top of that, EA parsed statistics from Battlefield Heroes, saying more than 8 billion bullets have been fired since launch, with about 532 million kills recorded. Concerning Need for Speed World, EA said more than 15 million races and 22 million pursuits are recorded every month, and players are flocking to the game from 237 countries.
EA's free-to-play game roster is continuing to swell. Forthcoming titles under the banner include Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances and Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes, which are both presently in beta.
im actually getting a little sick of hearing these companies success stories when 300 people over in china are attempting suicide because thier working conditions making the XBoX 360 and i assume the new XBOX 720 and Apple hardware like i-phones and -i-pads are being made wihth blood. I really getting sick of reading about thier success. Id liek to hear soemthign different. Maybe they all get together adn start paying those chinese workers $30'000 a year for thier hard work to give us all entertainment. Thats only 9 million dollars out of 3.99 BILLION...F all.
I wonder why they always tell you intangibles like number of bullets fired (really??) instead of oh, maybe, the average hours per user.Of course that's a rhetorical question.
Its not free it costs time which is more valuable then money. ANd those games arent even worth throwing money at mind alone time. Battlefield heros is the best of the bunch which they ruined by making the P2P players insanely brokenly cheap.which i hope they fixed. teh game started awesomely though. BFP4F should be pay you to play its terrible. just make BF2 F2P and make the Payment stuff new stuff. problem solved dammit. Il refrain from commenting on the rest cause i would rather not sit here and seneslessly bash em.
Battlefield Play4Free is one of the worst games I've played, I'm appalled that it even exists. Can't exactly call it "free" when you have to pay real money to use more than 1 lousy weapon.
I tried Need for Speed World and the game is garbage. You need to spend major money to get good cars. I would rather pay 60$ and have a good game where I can unlock everything for free.
