Early access to GOW: Judgment OverRun mode for GameStop preorders

Gamers with PowerUp Rewards membership who reserve upcoming Gears of War title get three-day headstart in new class-based game mode.

Gears of War: Judgment is due out March 19, but not all will need to wait until that day to play the newest entry in the series. Those with a GameStop PowerUp Rewards membership who preorder the title online or in-store will have early access to the game's new OverRun mode, it was announced today.

A GameStop PowerUp Rewards membership is free.

The "early access experience" begins Friday, March 15, at 11:59 p.m. PDT and runs through Monday, March 18, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. In addition, the offer retroactively applies to all members who had previously preordered Judgment at GameStop.

Judgment's OverRun mode is the first class-based multiplayer game type in the Gears of War series. It pits Locust and COG soldiers against each other in a head-to-head, objective-based battle for five-player teams.

What's more, multiplayer experience points earned during the early access period will carry over to the final game for those who purchase Judgment in the first week. Additionally, those who preorder Judgment from GameStop will receive a Young Marcus character skin and a Lambent weapon skin.

A demo for Judgment will be made available to all Xbox Live Gold members worldwide March 19. For more on Judgment, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

@Dark_Arcitekt The difference is that Gears is completely changing many aspects of this series. CoD sends out the same shit every year, sports games never change, and Assassins Creed games are all mindless assassinations and repetitive quests. Gears of War is making the game more playable, easier to use non-shotguns, the Gears are now more "athletic" so you can be mobile now, and my favorite addition, spawning with frags so one prick doesn't run and grab grenades then fuck everyone up. 

People Can Fly gave this series a much needed change of gameplay and made it more playable.

What? I thought the demo would come out much before the games release. I guess I'll just have to wait to see what people think since there's no way i'm gonna pre order this at Gamestop just for a 3 day demo.

They have been using this for a long time and if you see a picture of Kratoes or Sony using GOW= God of War. If you see Cogs picture or MS using GOW=Gears of War. Some of us have gotten used to this what the Article is saying if they are using GOW.

This does not make any sense for me to play the Demo when the final game is release in just 3 days before the demo. This Demo should have been out now or next Month at the very lease, and I'm not forking over $60 just for Judgment. Gears of War 3 is were it's at for me and I will just wait for the reviews on this before I buy this game. I can see why Cliff B. left Epic in the first place.

They definitely should've just ended with Gears 3 and started a new series. This is overboard and I've always loved Gears but, yeah, it just looks the same.

I see that they are doing everything they can to sell this game. Free Gears 1 which you probably already have or traded if you haven't been living under a rock for some years, a new DLC hammer burst which I think I have used multiple times before for some strange reason and now this.   But what they won't give you is a new Horde Mode, Beast mode, , Multiplayer Executions (yeah they took that away), koth, ctl etc. well you get the point.  Oh and by the way for all those fans out there that like to carry a shotgun and a lancer at the same time; yeah your going to have to take your pick on that one this time lol because thats gone to. See for some reason they felt the need to be more like COD and speed the game up.        What a shame......

what? asking a question like that is like asking why the sky is blue or why grapes are purple. even before i was employed i never really liked how they scammed but then as i worked for the company i began to realize how much corruption their is and how they gear towards scamming the customer. but not just the customer is the employee and after 3yrs and i finally left that place i never stepped back in and i strongly encourage everybody from spending money at such a corrupt company like GAMESTOP. its evil. just thinking of the past makes my skin crawl yuck!!

I'm usually on board with more additions to any franchise that I love.  But this time, it just feels like a cash-in.  It doesn't look any different than Gears 3.  All they did was take some pieces from Gears 3, change it up, make a new story and add some stuff, and then package it together as a new game.  

"Oh look,  Halo 4 and Black Ops 2, we need to get in on that hot sequel action!"

Too bad this game feels like a stripped down Gears game. It's a shame, because i liked playing the trilogy. Everything has a beginning, and an end.

I just pre-ordered on Amazon...the last Beta was fun, but the bonus from GS isn't worth it this time around.
